The only council person I see working is Larry Hatfield, he is at city hall I understand working several times a week. Exactly what do the council do to earn their money. Pass laws, etc., maybe everyone should attend council meetings and see exactly what is going on. It only meets twice a month, Hatfield works everyday for the community. Just ask around. I think at heart he must be a republican.

i agree, Hatfield has the courage to say what he thinks, he is not a hypocrite, playing both sides. Cundiff is a excellant council person and Tony Miller will be missed.

HMMMMM. this must be Bernie Brown.... Lets see if Larry is up at city hall everyday then he must be up there while he is on the County's time. Maybe the state etchics board should hear about this since that would be considered double dipping. Oh by the way why hasn't Larry kept his campaign promise of creating an ordinance regarding health insurance or was that a promise just to get Mrs. Cline out of office?

Health Insurance, and Joe Sohms name off city hall, your right, he dont get anything done, maybe hes busy securing himself a spot with the Flynn group, but wait, if he steps on Joes toes that might upset Flynn group, ohhhhhh, that could get tricky.

Mrs. Cline brought that on herself. It was just the way she and the city clerk went about doing it. What I heard she was the first one to vote no for part time people to receive health Ins. than, If that was true that was so wrong. She only had two council meeting a month and I know she didn't spent no 40 hours a week being a council person so she shouldn't receive it. I think alot of citizens would agree also.

Idiots come in all colors, the state ethics board could care less what goes on in Bullitt County. Larry has permission to work for the betterment of the city and county, quit your cry baby tears.

Really? vote for someone that publicly stated no matter what the people voted, she was going to vote no in the alcohol vote? I don't think so. If you can't represent the view of the people then you have no purpose in city council.

I dont see big things happening in Shepherdsville since the VOTE. And for YOUR information she DID represent some voters, some of us don't want drunks on our roads. OMG if someone is so desperate they must drink seven days a week then they have a real problem. I hope no one in your family is ever harmed by one of these people who just HAD to have a few drinks. A resturant that will never come to a small town because the census numbers just aren't there is not worth an injury, or even worse a life lost. If you know of ONE big name that is stomping Shepherdsvilles doors down please let me know because I havent heard of one. Once again Bonnie did represent us!!!

I don't believe she stated it that way. The small amount of people that showed up to vote in no way represented the people of Shepherdsville. From the begining Ms Enlow stated that this should be put on the ballot for the people to actually make that decision. Ms Enlow stood up for God. Surely you would find something good in that. This country is in trouble because so few people will stand up for what is right and fight for their people, country and God. So I am proud of Ms. Enlow for taking a stand. She knew it would cost her votes and she didn't let that cloud her judgement. At least she was honest about it. Just my view.
Question the vote

I understand the vote could not be put un the ballot, but could someone tell me why the vote could not have been done on primary day when you really do get the true voters opinion. The hours that that mock election were conducted was a joke. It was very lightly advertises in the newspaper, but the after vote made major headlines. So in my opinion I do not feel the yes vote was a true opinion of the city, and another thing I felt the wording of the vote question was a little tricky, why couldn't it have just read, Do you want Sunday alcohol sales---- YES ////// NO. That would have been so simple.

I beleive Scot Ellis and a couple of people running for city council wanted it done right now so they could use it against the mayor an Mrs Enlow.

It was all done the wrong way. It would have been nice to be on the primary ballot but they said kevin Mooney said it couldn't be done. I agree the advertisement was crappy. It all seemed political to me.

Of course it was part of a political agenda, however; everything that goes on seems to have a bite of political agenda. Just how many of the coucil really does anything except goes to two meetings and picks up thier monthly check. Faith cares about the community and will be there for the citizens 24/7

The bottom line is that enough people even bothered to vote, some would like for you to think the vote was rigged, etc. However; it was not, the churhs did not get out their people, now the saints of our community want to complain. There are Baptist, Catholics and others who are not against drinking. The majority of the people that came out expressed their opinion, and yes, they represented the people that came out to vote. For years I was very much involved in church work, I have a wonderful and Great God. However; it is those hypocrits that preach look at me,don'tdo this and don't do that, and yet, hide behind closed doors.

Did some of thoes people even graduate high school? Can some of thoes people even speak in public?( I've never heard them speak without looking at the floor the whole time)Give me a break, would you want some of these people to represent you at the state level. Come on folks please elect people who at least know how to dress appropriate. These are the people who will make the decisions for our city, I know out of this bunch it's hard to get six, thank goodness we have a few more to pick from in the fall. Please vote for the most qualified not for the good old boy club.
