Get a jeff co. attorney to come here. You will need to write down how the child acts and looks when brought to you if you get visitations. How they act going back too, if they cry do not want to go whatever. Write everything down even little things your child might say. THIS will take you a long way. That is if there is anything to be concerned about the parent who has custody. Wish you luck.

Why a Jefferson co. Atty? A friend suggested wantland but i can't find much on their track record custody wise, besides what they themselves claim.

Because the good attorneys are in jefferson. I would not waste my money on a bullitt county attorney. Too many are no different then the losey public defenders. Just trying to help.

You'll have a tough time finding a good attorney willing to come out to Bullitt County. Time is money and they're going to charge you the added time and travel expenses to represent you. Plus, rumor has it that this county plays by a different set of rules!

My story is I am preparing to fight for custody of my children. And I am asking public opinion on who would be the best in Bullitt co. This place is full of enough drama and poor me stuff. I don't need to air my laundry.

From a man who's been exceptionally close to both sides of that argument,,,and the statistics of the odds,,,she needs to find a "local" attorney that she can reason with,,,who will in turn reason with the "local" judge who is handling the case.If it is in fact a she,and she needs advice beyond that,,,then playing fair isn't working out for her and she probably neither deserves her kids, nor the name of the lawyer who can "make it happen for a small fee".

No such thing as a small fee when it comes to a custody battle.

Only asking who in Bullitt county is known as the best. Is all. I apologize for bothering any of the wise ones on shepherdsville forum with a question that is very obviously beneath them. I will continue my search else where. Thank you for your time.

Am sorry for offending you,but I don't think I said anything outta line.Your best bet is to get a local attorney. And yes, even though it is a bit judgmental of me,it does strike me as questionable whenever I see a mother who has need to get aggressive when pursuing custody of her children. And I was actually just talking around you(killin' time in an innocent fashion),,,didn't really mean anything by it.However,I do talk a bit too loud and a bit too fast at times.Sorry about that.

I've been in this situation once before as well, hope to NEVER go through it again...but, My ex had Wantland however we went through the Jefferson co courts and Wantland was not as successful there. I had a jeff. co. attny. Wantland IS a snake but a snake you want on your side if you know the fight is gonna be dirty. We went through the jeff. co. courts because I had moved there temporarily and that is where I filed for divorce. Wantland attempted to transfer the case to bullitt co. and failed. He attempted abuse allegations and failed. But the years of fighting over custody took its toll not only on us but the kids as well. It was an awful mess. If possible, and I know thats a BIG if...try to rise above the fighting, name calling, reputation destroying crud. Unless there is a true fear for your childs safety from the other parent you have to remember they ARE the other parent.
