Well from us old timers who drink coffee every morning together, and have been in politics for years, we give you the opinion we talked about this morning.

We do not want the Circus back in town as the Pioneer News called it a couple of years ago. The meeting this last year have been quite and professional. So our pick is as follows:

Don Cundiff, Larry Hatfield, Bonnie Enlow,Jerry Pile, Bernie Brown,(used to be a Mayor and council person)well liked in the point area and with older voters,(now he has to work for it), and the firemen's wife that is a school teaher or principle. She spoke at the last meeting and we were impressed. Mr. Wetzel is a good guy, but, we understand he has lost his main backer. I think we should have all 14 candidates present their case to the public. Whoever they are, they should bring professionalism, with NO BICKERING..We have had enough of that.

I do believe that you are mostly correct in your pick, however; I believe that James Watkins will regain a seat on the city council. I think it will be Cundiff, Hatfield, Enlow, Watkins, Marisha Bell, and Jerry Pile.
I agree

I will not vote for Mrs. Belle! I have heard that if she gets on the council she will put pressure on the mayor to make her husband the fire chief.

Absolutely not true, her husband is a volunteer firemen, he has a great career in Louisville, where do you people come up with this nonsense. And, the council cannot put pressure on the Mayor, he sets the appointments, the council sets the budget, they are not responsible for the everyday operation of the city.

So, the current chief is a volunteer with a great career! TBelle is in for power and wants the chief's job, ask anyone at the firehouse! He is not on Louisville by the way, he is on PRP! Go check that out! The mayor can be pressured to do anything by anybody just like you! What you say is nonsense!

Ok, so the Bell guy with the deformed ear is only a volunteer, but he is always around and acting like he is in charge, OMG, if this is true, I believe you are right, he acts like he is in charge now, if this is true I will certainly NOT vote for his wife, and if she is so dedicated to being a council member why did she only appear after she filed for the seat, looks to me like she should have been there before and know what is going on with the issues, no wonder she lost big in the last election, I wont vote for her. Thanks for the information!!!

Frankly i don't think there is much to pick from, I've read the posts on here, and drawn my own decisions about some of the others, and I think Shepherdsville is in REAL TROUBLE. We need educated people to help run our city, some of the people who are running NEVER attend a council meeting, can't even manage their own financial affairs, constantly stir trouble, never want to play nice, haven't got a clue whats going on around them, have a personal agenda, ect... Then there are a few that I feel do want whats best for the city. I don't know how the election will shake out but I hope two years from now there will be more, and better qualified people running for our city council because some of this bunch is a joke!

I pick these six people. Wetzel, Portman, Cundiff, Bassett,Colburn,Cubero. The other folks have got to go. I will tell you why on each one of them. Wetzel has voted with his heart for a majority of the issues he voted for Sunday Sales which will help bring business to our city. Portman because she is her own person and will not allow the mayor which ever one it will be push her around, Cundiff Don has spoken very loudly about his feelings on alot of thingsand has been fair in doing so. Bassett while he is a new face it is timme to bring in some new faces to the council. Colburn is a business man very smart guy I suggest you sit down and talk with him. You will be impressed. Cubero Former manger in some large companies and he is chairman of the GOP and has turned that party around.

This is why I would not vote for the others. Hatfield has his own personal agenda( Like renaming city hall because he hates Joe Sohm). Enlow she has some good points but didn't care what the people from the simulated ballot had to say when a majority said yes. Watkins well they are starting to become the next Tinnell family and he didn't do anything but follow Sohm's lead on everything when on the council the first two times.

Hatfield needs to go, his strings are pulled by George Miller who is only for himself and is a complete dumb Ass. Enlow only follows Big Jim's opinion. And Poor Cundiff, it takes him all day to decide if its sunny out side.

The town needs a totally new direction, so lets elect new people and see what happens.
