Does anyone else feel guilty because they can't afford to give to everyone that they would like to? Most of us feel obligated to get at least a little something, for a lot of people. Those little somethings add up quick and before you know it,there's the electric bill money! Don't get me wrong,if I had the extra money after the bills I love to give but times are tough, most everyone including me live paycheck to paycheck. We should all remember that Christmas is the marking of Jesus birth. No where in the bible does it say that we should give gifts to each other. Why do we do this to ourselves?

I feel ya. Seems this Christmas I paid the utilities and half the rent. Thank god for a great land lord. I hope to get the kids a little something. But I'm still grateful to be able to do this. I know people are worse off than me. Christ is the only meaning for Christmas which it seems most people forget this time of the year.

Christmas to me is remembering there is always HOPE!!! Many get wrapped up in the commercialism. Our family has always had gifts, we just take them to the Hospital & Home if The Innocence our the womens shelters. I always told my children ” you have everything you need, you get plenty throughout the year, Christmas is about Hope, now let's give HOPE to those without”
That has been a tradition since I started my own family.
I used to worry about not buying gifts after our finances changed but seem to always find a way to make gifts throughout the year.
Hand made with love, those are the best and that is what Christmas used to be....
JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON :)~

Christmas is the birth of Christ, plain and simple. Everything else we do is in celebration to that, as well as an opportunity to share His love.

I'm not being controversial I really am a curious person so I am just asking friendly. Why do you put xmas, instead of Christmas? I know it is quicker, but is there another reason that people do it as well?,

Just another way to take Christ out of Christmas. You would think it would not be to much trouble to spell his name out. He only died for us.

Christmas to me means spending time with my family and my beautiful little girl. I do go all out for my daughter and spoil her but she is the only child I will ever have. She does however know the true meaning of Christmas. We have always instilled into her that Jesus Christ our lord was born that day and that's why it is suppose to be celebrated. So we have always opened all gifts Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is spent with family. She only gets 1 or 2 gifts under the tree for Christmas morning. And she appreciates the meaning of Christmas more by being raised and being taught about Jesus.
God bless everyone of you out there tonite! And a very merry Christmas to you all as well!

Both my parents are gone, I have no kids, and my gf is the only person who I'm exchanging gifts with. I also think that Mary was just a s1ut with a story.

I'd rather just have another Thanksgiving. You don't have all the annoyance and miss as much work.

The whole idea of gift giving at Christmas makes me sick.I wish we lived in a world where everyone didnt expect a gift on a made up holiday! Why would we give gifts to each other to celebrate Jesus birth he didnt even want us to celebrate it.The retailers have made up the Christmas holiday.

Christmas is a day that was chosen by historic government to be celebrated by and unify growing population as the birth of Christ,,,Son of God.However, all historians agree that this date couldn't have been the birth of Christ,so it is obviously a "man-made" birth-date.The date that was chosen to celebrate,December 25,placed at the end of the year,,,must have been chosen as the date to be celebrated for obvious economical reasons right before a Government,,,comes to claim taxes. However,I'm pretty sure that the Good Lord would strongly appreciate a person holding to the day that's been assigned, and celebrating it honorably in His name once a year,,,and won't hold it against you if it's the wrong one.Praise God,,,and merry Christmas.
