I've heard a lot of negative things about Abell, not sure whether they were true or not. Has anyone else heard anything?

Yeah.As far as men go,they don't come much better than Layne,(if that's by chance who you're talkin' about). So,,,if it's scandal you're talkin,,,I hope he does better than Bill did with Monica Lewinski. He deserves better than that.

Layne is probably the only person around that courthouse that really cares about people. Seems like he's always been around there helping Bullitt County. Only Democrat I'll ever vote for.

I've heard he gets a little touchy and has wandering hands with some of the women in his office. Of course if this were true none of them would step up and say anything in fear of losing their job. Its just something I heard. Anybody know anything about it?

I've heard that too. Don't know if it's true but i do know that due to people in his office not completing their jobs in a timely manner has cost some people in our community money. A friend of the family had a family member pass away and due to his office not completeing paperwork in a timely manner it cost the family a thousand dollars. Something of which that family could not afford.

I know a person who works in the office and she told me about the "hands on policy" a long time ago but she`s afraid to say anything. Is anyone running against him who has a chance to win??

Rani Davis is running against him in the democratic primary. I think after learning all of this, she'll get my vote. It's terrible to have to work for a man and allow him to touch you and things of that nature that you do not want. At least if a woman gets elected those poor women in the office will no longer have to worry about this.

If a woman sits back and let's a man put his hands where ever he wants, that is not saying much for her ,job or not she does not have to take it !!!!!!!! There is other jobs out there, and working in that office can not be that great of a job. I do know Layne and have not seen any bad out of him!!!!!!!!

Why would you take second/third hand gossip to base your decision on who to vote for. You should vote for a person who is better qualified and does the best at the job. The office in general has had MAJOR changes since he took office and the majority of us have became "FAMILY" to each other. At no point in my 4 years of working here have I ever felt uncomfortable or afraid of LAYNE!

Obviously if Inquisitive heard it from someone in the office then it is not second/third hand gossip. Maybe the person they heard this from has been in her position for years and doesn't feel that another job is an option. No one should ever feel afraid or uncomfortable in the workplace for any reason. I do agree with voting for someone who is qualified to do the job such as someone who has worked in the office before and has knowledge of how to run it. He had never worked in the office before.

Why is it that there cannot be an election that runs without gossip and ridicules. For once in this country I would like to see a clean election run on what each candidate can offer to the office they are running for, NOT how the candidate can trash the other. IF the candidates can do nothing more than spend tax payers time trashing the other then NONE of them are worthy of being in an office position that we the community/ tax payers are relying on them to properly run.
Vote for the candidate that provides improvement, ideas for success in that office. School days of name calling, talking behind your back, gossiping should end when a child grows up and graduates!! A successful candidate that will truly provide leadership should get your vote.

How are we to know about candidates for office if we do not heed the word on the street from people we know and trust? Surely not from political advertising or from liberal newspapers such as the Courier journal and the pioneer news. I haven`t seen any advertising from a republican candidate. There will be another anti-obama straight-ticket vote this time, I`m sure.

Heard today that the Davis woman is pretty heavy into drugs, that's why she can't keep a job very long. Also, that some family members are in prison now over drugs, guess she needs some help in the court system.

Rani Davis is definitely not at all in drugs. She worked in the office while Doris Cornell ran it, so she knows how it should be run. And as far as her relatives being in jail, that is completely irrelevant to her. She has held a job in the court system for many years so these allegations are completely untrue. Unlike Layne, Rani makes an effort to reach out and get her name heard to the people in the community. She and many of her supporters have been out putting up signs, talking to people, and passing out information to help her obtain the position. I believe Davis is an excellent candidate for the job, and would be a great asset to the office.

YOU obviously don't have a clue about her. And talk about spreading lies and false accusations about someone. Let's try to keep it about what the REAL purpose is here and that is an election. And she has kept a job but if you had even a clue about how an election is run you would know that in order for her to run for certain office positions you cannot be employed by that office nor one associated with it. She would have had to leave certain positions in order to run for the office. Get a clue.
