I am sure that the mud will soon be flung. But let's remember that in this country, we still go by the rule of "Innocent until proven guilty."

Wonder why the mayor won't accept responsibility for his roll? Wonder what cops were involved? Wonder if it happened more than once?

Wonder how many kids got turned onto drugs because Jimmy said "look the other way"?

This is unfortunate that this has happened in our community, and our city is receiving media attention like this. Incidents such as this one does not look good for our city or for us whom live here. Although I believe in our justice system in this country, if justice needs to be serviced, I believe that it will. If Caple is found innocent then I support that decision as well.

I have heard several people make comments today that ALL of the police officers in Hillview must be crooked. This statement can't be further from the truth. Over the years, I have come to know several of the officers working at Hillview. We have a great police department and some really great new officers as well.

If Caple and those involved are "bad apples" then the justice system with deal with them as it deems necessary. One bad apple does not always spoil the bunch though. We still have the privilege of having some good officers doing great things in our community.

May God Bless Our City!

Now that's a statement that I would agree with. There of course were more officers involved in this. The thing with that is, if it was their rotation and they were on duty at the time this came about, then that's not entirely their fault that they were involved. Sometimes, you just have to do what you have to do. BUT, look at this way, you know there were other officers involved, they only indicted one for the charge of "lying" to the FBI. So maybe his story was different than the others involved?

Hillview has some really great guys working for them.

I do not beleive a word of it! I have worked with Chief Caple for years in and out of the schools. I can honestly say I have never met a nore dedicated, honest person, not just a Police officer. I watched Chief Caple talk to the kids in school and he really cares! Like they say - Innocent until proven gilty,- I beleive he will be proven innocent. If anyone says anything different, they do not know the man!

First I pray u are Not my child's teacher! A school/teachers job is to protect children. He was working as a Dare officer while covering up a crime and he was suppose to be teaching kids to stay away from drugs. There are 4 more indictments coming down. Will u support them too? Sometimes reality is it's another wolf in sheep's clothing. He is a thug with a badge. Every officer takes an oath and knows right from wrong ....it's called morals.

mayor Eadens is a crook too.

Most of you all will never hear of the scandal involving the old bowling alley, but trust me, taxpayers of Hillview almost got screwed bign on that one. It was no coincidence that Hillview annexed that property right after it closed, but was still standing. If someone had not blown the whistle, the city would have paid to run sewer there, and that is why Bullitt Bowl had to close.

Honestly,,,I believe that you're one-hundred percent right in covering for someone that you believe in,(kudos). And doing so with such zeal,,,inspires me even more.
As a matter of fact,,,that's exactly what it "seems" that the chief did that landed him in so much trouble,(though I commend you both for your efforts).
However,if his subordinates weren't jealous and lazy no-good bums who made promises that they intended to keep, but fell weak in the aftermath due to jealousy and spinelessness, and slaughtered one of their own simply to keep from answering questions,,,than we would never be having this discussion,,,and it would hurt nothing. And he would still be considered a good man.And doing his job.
However and as it stands though,,,you can prove your loyalty by sending the chief a much appreciated twenty-bucks a week.
In short kiddo,,,Federal indictments aren't handed down on mere speculation alone. So your argument,,,ain't really helping nothing.
Gotta wonder though,,,is save-asses like that really who Hillview wants to work with,,,when it comes down to it.

It is grand when the high and mighty fall. To think these folks are locking up others when in truth, maybe they should have been the ones locked up.

There is a phrase I always use when talking about LE, "criminals with badges".

No Mr Obama sir. It's simply called loyalty with a fouled up guidance system.
And if you would only raise your head up from the blacks and the gay folks bottom-side,,,you just might see that.
All that aside,,,thanks for the insurance.
Needed that.

Chief Caple has been with the Police Department a long time and he has done NOTHING but good things for this community! If anyone says different, they do not know him. I am glad to hear that the mayor and City Council are standing behind him.

while i do agree that it is unfortunate that we live in such a suck ass police districts. however fact is that its not your local Hillview police chief, its the whole county. there are so manby lies told to the dam court and grand jury everyday, so many that they cant keep up with them.
no it is not a Bad apple situation, its a bad orchard. i personally know of several cases in which a sworn in officer lied or mislead the judge, and or jury. The only way to break this out is to have enough resources, to go get a out of state lawyer to halfway listen.
so dont just pray for some losing township pray for the whole loser ass force..

How terrible is it that the FBI has enough info to indict and the mayor and city officials are standing behind him? The good side of this is that surely the residence will remember their loyalty come election time. If you are backing a man who moved a meth lab and then lied to the FBI about it, then you are a crook too.
