It is a beautiful building with horrible food and service. Disgusting bathrooms that are unfinished. Good luck getting service, and enjoy the warm beer. The current owners just don't care. To bad Bambi doesn't still own it. Oh, and what's the deal with Bill Hillman putting something in the trash out back and Gary Gee coming and getting it out?

That's to bad the place has gone down hill so much. I to remember when it first opened, I didn't think they sold beer back then. Bambi Golden and another gal were still working on the place last time I was in Shenandoah, it had just opened. As for Bill and Gary, I knew them in school and my guess would be that Bill is still the local coke dealer, him and Art.

Yes, I agree with all the above. Too bad they don't arrest those cokeheads! As for the Depot, it SUCKS! I wish someone who had some pride and love for the building and business would buy it and turn it into a REAL restaurant again! Right now it is a cockroach haven!

My wife and I stopped on a Sunday morning and all we got for 45 minutes was one cup of coffee. The waitress told use they only had two pots. We won't be stopping in again with this kind of service.

I guess I thought that the city owned the depot. I had read that they paid to have it rebuilt after a fire. If it was privately owned it would have been the insurance company that paid, not the citizens. Anyway, yeah horrible service, food was just barely ok. And no I will not return.

I would have to say that everything stated above is true, and that I totally agree. I once got maggots in mashed potatoes there years ago and have not returned since. Had I entered the restrooms before ordering I would not have ordered anything at all. No more family reunions held there for sure.

I took my kids in this place, they were all saying why is everything so sticky? This place cannot pass a health inspection and if it did, well, Bill must pay them off too. Have a Coke and keep smilin Bill!

You went to school with Gary and I? Funny I didn't go to school with Gary. I,ve never sold coke or any other drug, I wouldn't even know what it looks like. I have worked 7 days a week for 26 years, I worked two jobs to put my wife and I thru college. How would I find time to do drugs? Why would I jepordize everything to sell drugs? Think about it. We have a full time maintance man who cleans daily. We are open 6am to 2am the next day 7 days a week. We keep it as clean as we can. Why would you keep making this stuff up? Call me so we can talk about it if you have any self respect at all. Bambie owned this building 35 years ago, I bought it to save it from demolation 26 years ago; it was a motorcyle shop at that time. 04gmsp wrote: That's to bad the place has gone down hill so much. I agree that its gone down hill alot and the service there sucks! my boyfriend and I went there a while ago and in the two hours we were there, we saw our waitress when she came to take our drink orders (after waiting 20 minutes), take our food order and then to give us our bill. No hey how are you doing, hows the food or anything. Plus the food there isn't as good anymore.. I hope its not really roach infested like the person above said that is gross!!

Was back in the area last weekend and stopped at the depot. I was very disappointed, especially since everyone said that it is the place to be. I don't know if they get service because they are known there or what but we hardly had any. Looked like they had a ceiling fan catch fire too and left it hanging over our table, WTF!? It appeared that they had been working on the building though, there was trim missing in the mens room. Seems removing the burnt up fan would be tops on my list. The food was just barely edible, not what you would expect from a restaurant but for from a microwave and a 4 yaer old. And from what I remember as a young man in Shenandoah Bill Hillman was sent off to college over seas to avoid the law in town. Seems odd that one claiming to be him would say they know nothing of doing drugs, I know for a fact he sure used to know alot, did alot too.

Who really cares if Bill Hillman does drugs? Really? His food is very overrated, but he seems to be popular enough he has a huge clientelle that isn't disappointed to pay for shitty food, so long as the beer keeps rolling.

I have been going to the Depot for over 15 years and have always had great food and service. The place is clean too! I don't know what your talking about. I also have followed Bill Hillmans work with improving his community. Shame on you for all this drug talk just because you may want to feel better by bringing someone else down. Maybe he kicked you out at one time, you own another restaurant or don't agree with him at a political level, that's no reason to make stuff up! You don't own a restaurant for 30 years and have bad food.
