Wisconsin man who survived bridge collapse sentenced

A survivor of the Minneapolis bridge collapse that killed 13 people has been sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison on charges of injuring his fiancee's daughter.

This is an absolultey disgusting story. I couldn't believe what I was seeing on the news last night. This loser beats the crap out of a 2 year old and his parents have the balls, on TV to go on and say how he would never hurt anybody, blah, blah..and this loser girlfriend/mother of the child basically said the same thing...I was in shock...this 2 year old is ruined for life, she is blind, can't eat on her own and these people say these kinds of things....what is going on? Am I missing something here or has the world gone completely to crap?...Really, someone tell me. I couldn't believe what I was seeing/hearing. This loser. pussyboy got only 12 years for ruining this little girl's life for the rest of her days, he gets 12 years, the mother stood by him, you know he will be out in less than 8...what is going on with our justice system? with our people..has everyone just completley lost touch with reality. I am outraged and so should everyone else. There was no one to defend this poor defenseless little girl whose life has been ruined by some guy who, will, at least for a time get what he deserves in prison..and I hope he gets it so often it bleeds....what am I missing here?

Once again an innocent child bears the brunt of a demented persons anger. Until we see true justice served to these morons, this will keep happening. Where are the advocates for these children in these cases. Why are the prosecutors okay with these light sentences? I know a conviction is a conviction for them, they have long ago lost any moral values or discretion when it comes to fair punishment but there needs to be someone to demand that these crimes get due process. Why is he not sentenced to mandatory psychological testing and treatment? I'm sure a lot of people would rather see the tax money paid for that than the guards salaries to watch him just sit in a cell. He will only come out worse than when he went in only to harm someone else. At least he got at least 8 years, in Hennepin he would never have gotten more than 3 years tops.

This news story last night mad me sick to my stomach...and looking at this losers family sitting there, along with the poor girl's mom, just amazing to me....I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it...this poor girl's life has been ruined FOREVER and the "loved" ones in her life are in COMPLETE denial...this poor girl doesn't have a chance....how sad....

The TV last night said this jaggoff got 12 years, now this article says he only got 7 1/2 which is outragous. How can these judges go home at night and sleep? This girl's life is ruined and this loser gets less than 8 years, which means he will be out in 3....WTF?..my onl yhope is that, if he does get out of jail alive he whistles while he walks if you catch my drift...although, looking at him, he is probably looking forward to it..
