Come to Barron County if you want to break into peoples homes, and not worry about getting caught. The county police are like Keystone cops. Deputy Kurt Beranek is like a bull in a China shop when it comes to evidence. He will tromp all over it, and not properly secure the evidence. Defense lawyers ought to like him. They have analog alarms to place in places of ongoing theft. However, these analog alarms don't work with the Counties new $3 million digital communication system; although, they are trying to rectify the problem. They don't even have lowjack systems to place on vehicles and such. So come to Barron County if you are a thief. No worries here mate about getting caught by the popo. There is a lot of theft going on in the county, but the police will not tell the residents about it. Even if the thieves get caught, they most like will get probation anyway.

Statistically speaking, property crime offenders have the highest reoffense rate of any crime type at about 50%. Even if they do get caught, all they will get is usually probation. Sounds like people who commit property crimes are dangerous to me.

I have talked with people in both Rusk and Barron counties, and they tell me their is plenty of theft going on. Some have had their places broke into numerous times by thieves.

I like robbing homes in Barron County. The police are too stupid to catch me. Maybe I will get that big screen TV in the DA's home next. Her idiotic husband would just destroy the evidence anyway.

clearance rate in 2010 by BCSO only about 13% for burglary. If they are caught, they will get probation 65% of the time. Property crime in Barron County yielded a loss of a little over $1.6 million to residents. Recovery rate about 6%. Guess crime does pay. Wisconsin residents lost $29 million from burglary and over $137 million from property crime in 2010. See the 2010 Wisconsin crime report.

Burglary Specialization Within a Parole Cohort: Criminal Lifestyle or Moonlighting?
https://www.ncjrs.gov/App/publications/Abstra...

Wright and Decker's study of burglars was based on findings from intensive interviews of active burglars derived through snowball sampling. This study found about 95 percent of the sample used burglary to meet a pressing need for cash. Holzman found burglars were essentially self-employed business persons who were semi-skilled and had few marketable job skills.

Hear ye, hear ye. By order of the Barron county courts:

Short of cash, rob thy neighbor.
Can't get a loan? Rob thy neighbor.

What's wrong with our court system? Burglary is profitable. All you get is probation. Just read the court record in the local papers. Burglars are getting probation with maybe a little jail time.

Cops are not much better in Rusk county either. They don't even take DNA samples even when DNA is present. I hear burglary is getting worse in northern Wisconsin. Sawyer county is even worse from what I hear.

McFarland is a bad dude. Rumor has it he set fires as a teenager. He also burglarized place too according to sources. Apparently he even bragged in the back of patrol cars that he would be out of jail faster than it took the police officer to transport him there.
