Witnesses: Plane had engine problems in crash that killed 3 Wis...

Two witnesses reported hearing a plane's engine "coughing, sputtering and missing" before it crashed in northwest Iowa last month, killing three Wisconsin men.

As a former [private] pilot, I have many unanswered questions about this crash. Accidents are caused they don't just happen. However, before we all rush to judgement or speculate as to the causes of this tragic incident let's hear or receive more facts and mourn for the dead. The tragic truth for all this should be forthcoming soon.

Light aircraft are very safe and fun to fly if the dynamics/rules of safety and flight are adhered to. Nothing beats the thrill of ...slipping the surly bonds of earth to dance the skies on laughtered silver wings!...

Engine stalls don't cause deadly crashes. Did this guy have a license?

Yes, he did have a license and was an experienced pilot-and more than likely it was the weather that caused it.
