Doesn't anyone find it interesting that the same people who Mr. Smelcer worked for own property along the river down Warner Bridge Rd. and the skull was found along the river not far from that location? I am tired of people getting away with things because they have the police in their back pocket. I watched the news clip on Fox 17. The sister is meeting a brick wall because no one wants to truly investigate certain people in this town. The police chief was almost smiling. I am truly sorry for the family and I really hope they will eventually get justice.

Truth be told....you are not the only one who thinks this...I was told that there was a backhoe parked on that very property you're speaking of at the time of Mr. Smelcer's disappearence. I know it is just hear say but definitly very suspicious in my opinion.

You are both making excellent points, there was a backhoe on that property not long after Bobby smelcer went missing, not only that, but they had days before anything was reported, and very suspicious that his skull was located right behind the property owned by the man that owns that town... seems to me, and many others, we all know who done it! Why are they not doing anything??? do we dare even ponder that question of our own officials...? I say yes!

Truth is everyone in this town knows that james farrar and his son blue are to blame for this mans death but until the federal goverment steps in and cleans up the Sherrifs office and the judges nothing will ever change funny how they were aloud to pack this mans stuff up and hold on to it there goes your clues his lanlord long got rid of any physical evidence and believe me our fine sherrif got paid!

One of the most crooked towns you'll EVER find. Cops, lawyers, judges....all feeding from the same trough. Remember Judge N.Taylor handing down "justice" while he sat on the bench smoking one cig after another....later sent to the pen for dope dealing!! One of the biggest disgraces in Shelbyville is the so-called "newspaper" that has NEVER broken a single important story, let alone dig into something as serious as a murder. How about Jimmy Green several years ago?? Throat cut on a country road....never solved although everyone knew where to look. Worst schools, worst doctors, worst P.D.....glad I don't live there anymore.

The police chief has good reason to smile: gets paid good money for doing little more than showing up at a parade. Same for the Sheriff's dept....rotten to the core and always has been. Dope is sold almost openly, and the only stories that the local "newspaper" ever covers are the ones about some poor shmuck getting stopped with a half-joint in his car. Cops, deputies, judges....all in it for what they can steal/bribe. If you're waiting for change, don't hold your breath....maybe some day the Feds will enter the picture, but I don't think so.

if there was a backhoe there why would they find the skull, hmm put his body in a hole but not his head...did he owe the land lord money, was he told to hold the stuff by the police...does the man you say done this own several backhoe as he is in to construction..why would a man worth million want to kill and guy who had been working form him on and off for several years, seems that man always had a time to help bobby....if you say bobby knew something , well does that not mean bobby was up to no good as well? just simple questions to ask your self before you put a persons name on here as they can track ip addy's and you could get popped with slander if you cant back up what you say...just food for thought...and if they are as crazy and bad ass and have the whole town paid off to protect them, then should you not worried just a little that you to could disappear.....think about the things we say sometimes it helps to step back and ask simple questions to what we claim...as then we can see how retarded we sound so we can make proper statements of facts
