New to the area and was looking at an SUV at Star Auto Sales in Shelbyville. Was wondering if anybody had purchased from them & if so what was the experience like???

I just bought a small SUV from Premier, which has the same owner as Trust. I'll send everyone I know to them. The owner, Miso, is fantastic. He worked with us on the downpayment and taxes and most importantly, at no point, did we get the "sleezy used car salesman" vibe from him. They even went so far as to balance my tires before I took the car home because the mechanic noticed a slight vibration when he moved it across the lot to get it ready for me to pickup.

Absolutely a nightmare! I was looking to purchase a vehicle and had asked around town if Star Auto was a replicable auto dealer and was told to steer clear of their tactics. Although I did not listen and went forward with a transaction. First I leased a 2004 Mercedes 240 101K, well the very next day the transmission was slipping and the Mercedes Dealership said it needed a new transmission & radiator. When I went to discuss the matter with the salesman I had noticed a couple in there complaining of a Nissan Altima in which they had purchased a few days back & the head gasket was blown. Upon my discussion the salesman he advised me if was not his place to fix the car as he would be taking my headache. He said he would "give" me a warranty with the car that it would cover the damage. I waited for a little more than a week & it never came in the mail. I called the warranty place and was advised that they did not cover that particular problem. So after 2 weeks of being without a car I was given the option of $1,000 of my money back (I initially put forth $3,000), wait for the car to be fixed (I would have to pay half),or trade for another car (I would have to put more money down). Obviously he has me in a catch 22 & I did what I felt to be best in that particular situation & put some more money down on another car. After we purchased the other car, 08' Nissan Altima 88K, my husband immediately changed the oil as it maybe 1 quart sitting in it. About 4 day's later my father checked the oil and it was completely dry and the car was smoking. It is burning oil and that is where I am now. They are untrustworthy, unreliable, sneaky, and ruthless individuals. I would advise anyone just as I was advised that this place is a WORTHLESS MONEY-PIT.

I have heard of Star Auto. I know a man who bought an SUV from them and the transmission was slipping it it also and they basically told him to deal with it. Seems like they are a nuisance to this community.

I work for a local auto repair shop and they are always bringing in their cars to get them fixed just enough so the can sell them. All they sell are duds. Surprised that place in still in business.

Horrible rude sleazy business, sold me a pos and refused to do anything to remedy the situation. After four days check engine light was on...needed about 900 dollars in repairs. Crooks. Steer clear.
