Pray for the parents of this child that they can find peace in there heart. If you know them upleft them. They need your love, I pray God will help them through this time, and pray, the parents can work together. I want to tell them, Jesus Christ Love You, don't give up. ==turningfromsin==

Your an ass. The devil is talking right through you. No reason right to put your thoughts behind you and show some sympathy.

what? they should have been watchng them! It was an accident, yes, but as a result of neglect.
SOMETHING was more important than watching that child at that time. Aren't in-town pools required to be fenced and locked?
If it were up to me, I would remove any other children in the home, until this is investigated, and if found, "innocent" then they need to take parenting classes, safety classes, and make the necessary home repairs to get it up to code before the children are returned.

Lay off. While their hearts are breaking over their loss you want to crucify them.

I agree Oops. Why would you leave a child that age around a pool unattended and not be watching every minute

It was their only child. Only one to watch. She was almost 2. Even the most inexperienced parent by that time knows that toddlers are fast and curious. You can buy child proof locks, you can get those real cheap siren things that magnets to your door, the door opens and the sound goes off. They are less than 10 bucks for a pack of 3!
Even a plain old latch and hook placed at the top of the door would have slowed her down.
Praying to Jesus is going to make no difference now, so I get real tired of that being what these people fall back on instead of placing the blame where it belongs. She trusted them to take care of her.

Welcome to the Bible Belt. It's never anyone's responsibility that way because it's always God's way, so when something happens it's not your fault

Not that it matters but I believe the "pool" the news is reporting was in fact one of those little backyard ponds. The house where the child died is for sale and the realtor has a picture of the pond posted with the house listing -- http://images1.e-net.com/mls/import/DanvilleI...

It's easy to see an unsecured pond/pool with a toddler around is a horrible accident waiting to happen; it's also easy to imagine what the parents are going through.

So if you neglect your child and the child dies as a result, act really sad, talk about God, and then you get away with it.
Now lets say you are really nuts, thinking of putting your kids in a closed garage with the car engine running-NOooooo that would really be stupid, instead get a kidding pool, toss them in, and say whoops, OH GOD MY KID DROWNED! Then everyone will gather around you, defend you, bring you cassaroles to eat, donate money to bury the kid, buy the flowers, WHEW.
This is assinine.
So what if it was an accident? Drunk drivers don't mean to cross the line and kill a family-but they do and they go to jail.

Okay I lived close to a man years ago that put his kids in a car and then left the motor running WITH him in it.He went to trial and it came out that he had hardly any sleep for 4 or 5 days after his wife and her boyfriend kept calling him on the phone and driving by the house so he decided after no sleep for that length of time that he and his kids would be better off in heaven so that is what prompted the killing. The state and the defense both had psychiatrists testify and they both said this was an act of love and protection. Not murder. He was sent to a mental institution. He lost his beloved children by his own act. I have lost track of him but I hear that he is still paying for this for 30 years since it happened. It is people that have something to hide like these posters on Topix. As for these parents. They will suffer forever. They need support now .

Again, I feel for them, I really do, but how do you leave a small child that age unattended for long enough to drown in a pool?

Some you you people can make someone sick. Your (in your own mind) think your so perfect. Your life hasn't even started and your so judgemental to other to tell us how perfect you think you are. Heres some real new to you, talk to us when your in your 70-80 and tell us then how perfect your life went and how you never did any thing wrong or harm other, that last part you have already done to these people. May God have Merrcy on your soul and you. ==turningfromsin==how about you

It was a backyard pool. They usually never have the ladder up leading to the pool, but happened to have it this time around. The water was very green and disgusting. Terrible Terrible accident, God has a plan for everyone. God Bless her soul
