You should be thankful for Baeslers...it's in your town. Are you going to drive all the way to Terre Haute during disaster conditions such as blizzards?

Larger towns might be able to supply cheaper prices because they get volume discounts.

Also, even in this day and age, some people don't have cars. They can walk to a store that's in their town.

we can support our small local stores or let walmart set up the new world order! walmart is killing the economy our country will never have any revenue coming in if walmart wages are the standard! my friend grover has been there forver and he just hit ten bucks an hour We have to wake up i would rather support baeslers than finish ruining the little economy we have left and god bless america

I just got home from another frustrating shopping experience at Baeslers-Sullivan. Each time I go there, the sale items do not ring up properly, overcharging me. Today it was Wheat Thins and both Swanson beef and chicken broth. Two weeks ago, it was Wheat Thins again and Cheerios. Suspiciously, such things keep happening repeatedly at Baeslers. Are they just that sloppy, or are they cheats?

Mr. Baesler makes truckloads of donations to Our Fathers Arms, does Walmart, Kroger or any big chain stores?? He is an asset to our community!

I got a tub of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and it was awful. Spoiled or something. I ended up throwing it out. I also had a tub from Super Wal-Mart and tasted it and it was totally different from Baeslers. Wal-Mart's was good. I've gotten some little smokies there too, brought them home and they tasted like hot dogs. Their hash brown patties were hard as a brick after fixing them. I'm surprised the dogs didn't break their teeth after I threw them out! A lot of their food is terrible. That's why I do my grocery shopping at Terre Haute at Super Wal-Mart. If we had a better Wal-Mart closer, I'd go there!

I like shopping locally to help support the community. For myself Baesler's here in Sullivan has only one thing going for it, and that's the 5 for 20 in the meat dept. I have to make it on a puny ssdi check and can't afford their prices on the majority of their food. They do have alot of good choices and product, but it is ridiculous when you can go a few blocks over to Save-a-lot and get alot of the exact same product and same brand name for half the price. Kudos to Baesler's for donating to the local foodbank here, but they really need to get a little more realistic on alot of their pricing.

I shop in Sullivan also on most stuff. Reason I quit Baeslers is because of the layout of the store. Why have the bread way back in the farthest corner of the store? Who wants to walk a mile to get a loaf of bread. Sullivan has older people that do not want to walk 100 miles to get a loaf of bread. Use to be up by deli but they moved it clear in back to get you to walk thru the store. I now do my walking over at Dollar General have good bread there. Also the meat selection at Sav-A-Lot is way better and cheaper

Mr. Baesler does donate a lot of money to charity. That is indeed respectable. What he doesn't do is treat his store managers with respect and dignity. How many managers were at that location for the last 20 years up until Mr. Baesler purchased the property? He needs to be really careful. He has Age Discrimination written all over his practice and that will cost him a lot of money.
