Why does a non profit who lost money for its investors last year spending $450,000 of their money?
#2 Jan 6, 2010
because they get paid regardless of their performance. Take a look at their 990, the top earners are VERY well compensated.

unreal how much this group spends to lose money and restrict funding to well-deserving nonprofits. this and united way are scams. give your money directly, it will serve everyone better.

Yet another tax-exempt 501c3 organization plaguing Berkshire County with liberal good intentions and sucking on the public teat without paying its fair share into the system.
Berkshire Taconic functions as the Berkshire's own miniature version of United Way, mostly channeling donations to other charities -- and all subsidized by the U.S. taxpayer.
And of course the CEO is well-compensated for this function of administering local charity monies to other local charities.
According to Berkshire Taconic's own IRS Form 990, Jennifer Dowley, the organization's president, in Fiscal 2008, was paid a total of $157,000.
That's $3,000 weekly in salary and perks simply to administer money.
Now that the organization has bought a building in Sheffield in which to set up its headquarters, do ya think this tax-exempt group will be paying local property taxes to Sheffield?
Ain't Liberalism grand?
