It's fair to assume anybody and everybody who departs a barroom is above the legal drinking limit of .08?

You cannot sit and drink for hours and expect to be sober enough to drive wherever.

It just seems to me once a departing (staggering) barroom drinker unlocks the vehicle and announces his intent: inserts the auto's ignition keys, that probable cause exist enought to stop the motorist and evulate the effectiveness of his or her driving soberity. So it seem to me!

These folks should not be permitted to leave the parking lot under their current cognitional drunken state.

Then if all u do is play pool, then what's the problem??? perhaps there is somthing else to hide?? Maybe your girlfriend that your wife knows nothing about?? Towns should shut down all these establishments. How many will be out of work? Maybe 6-9 people at each place that are working tax free and collecting welfare!!! I know that this world will never change but, I feel much better now. I'll see ya when I'm using the JAWS to cut ya out.

spoken like a real ignorant touch hole. And the problem with that is , the bars are the same as any other buisiness. They don't come drag you off the street to visit their establishment, so why should they be the subject of cops just walking in off the street to check? DO they do that at resteraunts? Do they do that at county fairs? Do they do that at church? They have a few better things to be doing than intimidating customers of a legal buisiness. BUT YOU SHOW YOUR TRUE COLORS WITH THE STATEMENT SHUT THEM ALL DOWN. WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR SKELETONS IN YOUR CLOSET.

Absolutely no skeletons here. If police wanted to search me, I've got no problem with that as I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE!! Bar are not a buisness but the problem of our society. What is the worst that could happen if the bars all shut down? Perhaps all you fine out standing people would go to the liquor store for beer and smokes and then go home were you can only hurt yourself and your familys instead of the inoccent ones!!!!!

Brilliant!!! Bars are not a buisiness. Then just what are they? I guess if your perfectly happy going to work all day, then come home sit on the couch and drink your beer, then by all means do that. But not all people are couch potatoes, some of us like to get out and enjoy ourselves. We don't go to work all day just to pay the insurance companys, the mortgage companys, the utility companys, the state tax man, we also like to have a little enjoyment from our labors. And when people "go to the package store" buy their 6 pack, sit home drink said six pack and want more, will they drive to purchase another? I THINK SO.

to be honest, it is a sad thing when a person is injured/killed through drunk driving, but to be realistic it is not worth a direct violation of my rights. this is just another case of police over stepping their boundaries. you wanna catch drunk drivers, park outside the bar and catch them as they leave.

bars are not a business? they do not take in money for goods and services?

as for you letting police search you, its people like you that have helped to erode our rights as citizens. "i have nothing to hide" is the lamest god damned excuse for being a coward i have ever heard. you know how many times ive "had nothing to hide" yet have told police "no you may not search me or my property without a warrant". you sir/ma am need to grow a backbone and stop acting like some spineless 1930s german who just goes along with the crowd; cause honestly its people like you who allowed facism and national socialism possible just by rolling over and saying "ive got nothing to hide".

as far as beer/bars it sounds like you're on your soap box getting ready to mount your high horse over this subject. "all you plebs and your filthy alcohol! you should spend your money on things of culture and refinement!" drift off mate, if someone wants to go to a bar (one of the worlds 3 oldest businesses next to prostitution and money lending) then that is their personal right to do so. what are you the christian morality police?

so you know best for everyone, what should we do your holiness? we should stop buying beer, cigarettes and anything else bad for us such as "trans fats", sugars and anything else which is a social ill. then we can all get out there an enjoy nature; except for the sun burns which cause cancer, bug bites which can lead to myriad of diseases, plants which can cause rashes and itching, mushrooms which can kill you over the course of 2 days, black bears which can maul the hell out of you, rattlesnakes, the list goes on and on. we should ban the out of doors, and proceed to eliminate any of the problems of said out of doors as to keep our people safe.

if the police were concerned with catching drunks they would park in the parking lot catching them as they put their keys in their cars to turn them over. this is just another excuse for them to trod on your rights; and like i said its sheep like you who have "nothing to hide" that allow it to happen. well sir, when you cant even go to what you enjoy to do without being asked for your id card/papers please dont come on here bitching about how "we shouldnt have to show our papers to go to church!" oh no i forgot you'd probably go along with it because isnt that what romans 13 says?(despite it being only about money and giving it back to them because is it not of the lord jesus)

You have me confused with I SPY. I don't think the cops should enter a place of buisiness without being invited in, that becomes intimidation no matter how you slice it. do the job they get paid to do and patrol the dunkin donuts parking lot like they always have.

And yes bars are a buisiness, the sell you a product that they inturn buy from a distributor. UNLIKE the insurance company, who produces nothing--sells nothing tangible---but reaps huge rewards. Yup as I was typing this I got my brand new insurance liability bill--great up 23 % from last year, but hey the peice of paper is the same.
