Why the fear of new ideas?
#1 Dec 9, 2009
I've read the entire proposal. I saw nothing innovative. Berkshire Hills and Southern Berkshire both offer vast access to arts, music, etc; far more than most public schools and as much as the proposed charter. Berkshire Hills also uses the campus, Project Sprout (a national model for innovation by the way!) ropes course, access to Monument Mountain and lots of other things incorporated into teaching & learning with an outdoors/environmental bent...and the Middle School may be the most innovative, environmentally advanced school building in the country. The charter option is expensive, redundant and superfluous
