If the Town of Monterey were smart, its voters would terminate the Town's relationship with the Southern Berkshire Regional School District now that the Town has the opportunity and opening to do so.
The Town could get a far more cost-effective arrangement and a better education for its school children if it set up to run its own local school system.

The fuel and time savings just from not having to have children bus to Sheffield day-in and day-out year-round would be enormous, and certainly enough to pay the salaries of some fine teachers.
