Which contractors and design consultants will end up benefitting and receiving the most money from this pork-barrel 'rehabilitation' project to tap into federal 'Stimulus' money?

After all isn't that what this proposed project is all about?
Forget about all the local complaints now suddenly being espoused by local pols about trees, about sidewalks, and about parking.
The real impetus behind this project is the simple desire to tap into federal "Stimulus" funds to benefit a few well-connected contractors and design firms.
Follow the money!

The bidding process will be interesting!
I guess the big winner will be the design consultant, that is a no bid deal,I believe!

Since South County doesn't have a union base at all, we can eliminate contractors south of Pittsfield and west of Springfield.

Oh really?
You sure Petricca and Maximillian wouldn't be bidding on a project like this?
Plus there are smaller firms around South County with all the equipment necessary to complete a street rehab of this type.
It's not exactly rocket science.

This is not a "shovel ready" project thereby not eligible for stimulus money. The project will not start for another 3 years.
Heller - wrong again.

Most of the stimulus money has yet to be spent.
What makes you so certain that this rehab project would be exempt from getting any of those funds, whether shovel ready or not?
Are you believing again what you read in The Berkshire Eagle?

L.B. Corp. may bid and they have a very sharp pencil, been underbidding Lane, maxy, and petricca on some good sized projects!
Although it is not rocket science, getting it right is a one shot deal!
