Alas, in the name of 'fiscal responsibillity' we slowly chip away at the civillity and literacy that made this country what it was. In the end all we'll have is army manned (womanned) by people who will not remember what it was they were fighting for. At a time when $1 million is considered a small bonus for an underperforming corporate executive we can't even find the money to keep a rickety old truck on the road to drive books from library to library. Sad.
