I live in Ayrshire, Scotland though originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland and wonder if any of the readers on your forum can help me. My great grandparents emigrated to Lorain in 1923 and though they have since died (buried in Ridge Hill Memorial Park), I suspect that there may be surviving "Reynolds" relatives in the area and wonder if they, or anyone who knows them, would care to get in touch with me, through your forum. The most recent information I have stems from the 1940 USA census. My mother's cousins, siblings William and Eleanor Ann (surname?) who would now be aged 86 and 77 respectively, their mother's maiden name was Dorothy Reynolds and their address in 1940 was 3050 Clinton Avenue. Previous Lorain addresses for the Reynolds family were 3127 Grove Avenue; 2224 East 31st street and earliest of all 1764 East 31st street.
My great grandparents were called Ellen & Job Reynolds. They emigrated from England to the U.S. in 1923 and they had three children - my grandfather, Thomas Reynolds (1898) who lived and died in Belfast and his three sisters Ivy (1900), Lillian (1896) and Dorothy (1901). I think all three sisters lived in Lorain, or the U.S. If my grandfather's sisters married, their children and grandchildren in the Lorain area will, of course, have surnames other than Reynolds, but hopefully the names of Job and Ellen or the maternal maiden name Reynolds will ring some bells. My great grandfather Job worked for the National Tube Company in Lorain and died on Dec 22, 1938. My great grandmother Ellen, Elizabeth Reynolds died on May 7th 1941. According to the 1940 census she lived as a widow, with her daughter Dorothy and her grandchildren William and Eleanor Ann in Clinton Avenue.
I look forward to hearing from any of the forum readers if they have any information which might help.
