I hope Rep. Lundy is able to get the backing of all legislators and get these people out of our state. I would like to see them shut down in the United States. They do not follow the diets our paid dieticians make up. They perform differently in our prisons. The one at Trumbull serves dried up half oranges or applesauce for the fruit. Grafton serves some fresh fruit such as apples. Most of our inmates say the food is not only tasteless most of the time, but it isn't even appetizing. If the inmates have outside support, they pool foods and make "breaks" and then share the results. Some of it sounds pretty wild. Aramark has on a few occasions run out of food before all the inmates are fed. I don't believe any staff eats the stuff. I feel that if the warden and staff won't eat it, then it isn't fit for the inmates either. The meat is soy products or a new meat out that is made up of the gristle and other un-edibles. They grind it fine so the inmates don't notice the garage they are being served. The inmates are not fooled, they aren't as stupid and worthless as our prison staff thinks. I wish Rep. Lundy would also start working on getting back to decent medical care and medicines. The prison director has told the medical staff to send the inmates to commissary for otc stuff that doesn't work, and stop giving them medication for their ills. One medical staff recently stopped the post traumatic meds that a vet inmate has received for years. They don't feel it is needed. Actually the prison director doesnt want to spend the money. The VA would most likely give medical care to the vet inmates, but the prison director won't allow that either. The people of Ohio who condone this kind of treatment have regressed to England and the debtors prisons.
