Have you done the research? There is NO successful treatment for sex offenders. If you think it's so great, put your kid around him and see what happens.

I don't believe that bull****! Tell that load a' crap to the victim or someone who has been sexually abused. I would not want someone like that aound me or my family. If a sex offender wants to work, they should register as a "sex offender" and work at something that does not involve human contact or working with computers.

I worked several years ago at a long-term adolescent treatment center. We briefly tried to expand our efforts beyond just drug/alcohol/behavioral/emotio nal issues and agreed to take a juvenile sex offender. Using all of our typical programs (group therapy, individual therapy, peer-connected systems of rewards and consequences, etc.) we decided that he wasn't responding and that we couldn't help him. He was transferred to another facility out of state. Several months later he called me at work to give me an update on how he was doing. First off, I was surprised that he got the phone number. Second, I didn't think he really cared what people thought about him. Anyway, he told me about the program that he was in, and I asked him how it had been since he had left us. His reply chilled me. He said, Well, I had a relapse but have done better now for about a month." A "relapse" to him meant that he had molested a kid. And he said it without a hint of responsibility or shame, as if it were something that had happened to him and not something that he had done to someone else.

That is what I remember the most and it will always stay with me.

I worked in that field for over twelve years...what is that state thinking. We would not hire a sex offender at all. It does not matter how long ago it happened.

This is disgusting

OK, I'm failing to follow the logic of most of you. Yes, it is a horrible crime to sexually molest a child. He was caught and served his time. Now, he has found a job so that the State does not have to pay him to do nothing.

What is he supposed to do? He is not working with children. Is there some type of study that shows a child molester is going to move on to invalid adults?

Further, it was disclosed to the families of those for whom he is providing care. Rightly or wrongly, they've accepted the risk of placing their family in this person's care. This is no longer the State's business.

So, until the laws are changed to declare that child molester is to be jailed for life, the person has a right to be employed. What is he to do?

He has no right to work around children or invalid adults. There are millions of jobs he could be doing, which do not include working with people who can't protect themselves.

Do you know someone who is a rehabilitated sex offender? I haven't seen one... because what ever it is that drives a person to run their hands down the pants of a child is something dark and evil. That evil is often hidden behind a religious appearing person on the outside or a friendly neighbor or "loving" family member. How do they rehabilitate a monster like this? Talk the evil out of em. LOL. Bullcrap! And yes I do have a problem with known pervs being around children. I gotta go... this topic makes me angry.

I don't have anything good to say about the families who allowed this to happen to their invalid family member. Apparently, they don't give a rat's ass about their loved ones.

Misinformation again - It's the PEDOPHILES who have little chance of rehab...... the term 'sex offenders' covers the whole group, a small part of which is pedophiles.... can't paint 'em all with the same brush!!
