Jeez! Some weirdo on a bike, I think his name is Mike, was bumming change off of folks in front of the KDH Food Dog last night. He hit me up on my way out. I gave him like eleven cents. He'd have to raise another 199.89 for his next crack rock. Who is this dood? I heard he gets busted a lot for breaking into vacant rental homes. Screwed up beard and bald head. Looks like he's not going to live too much longer anyway so who cares right? Next I go over to the Kangaroo because I forgot to buy a lotto ticket and some drunk jack ass trys to bum cigarettes from me. I told him I didn't smoke. He then had the balls to call me a liar saying that he saw me smoking when I pulled into the parking lot. I told him to put up or shut up. Then he got into a car with Va plates driven by some trash Ho and disappeared. I don't care so much about the drug problem round here. I like knowing that I can get drugs when I want them. But who is going to clean up this trash problem? Who is going to solve the fatal hit and run in Nags head this past summer? Who is going to solve the one in Duck last night? Wouldn't that be the sheriff's job? Hell. I don't think either one of them can handle it. It's not even worth my time to vote.

Actually that part of law enforcement is not investigated by the sheriff's office. That would be the local PDs or state troopers.

Having said that, if you expect local law enforcement to do anything other than entrap local citizens, lie in court, drink their eveidence, smoke thier evidence etc.. then think again.

Oh? I see now. Currituck Co? A once beautiful paradise now spoiled. 158. The crack cocaine highway. The corridor for drugs entering the OBX. I got news for you people. It will never stop no matter who you vote for. Your county will be infiltrated by Tidewater and E.L.C.Y. trash and it will overflow to Dare Co. and no one can do anything about it. Next all your once beautiful farm land will be gone to development and you will be only an extension of the metropolis that is Tidewater. Do you people even realize that people used to come from all over the world to hunt and fish in Currituck? But humanity has destroyed that now. I grew up in Currituck. I knew it was over back in the seventies one day while riding the bus to school. As we traveled down 158, which was two lane at the time, a large flock of Canadian geese was setting down in a field. Some idiot white kid on the bus asked what kind of birds they were. I knew it was all going to hell in a hand basket then. You folks are pretty much screwed no matter who you vote for.
KEEP JOHNSON SHERIFF!!

Standing Sheriff for 10 years, Johnson brings integrity to the title. She ALWAYS goes above and beyond her call of duty and GENUINELY cares about ALL of her citizens! I have such a respect for her (Side Note: she doesn't 'mudsling', which seems to be Norell's style during campaigning. So what if she used to be a hairdresser? Are you mocking a highly respectable profession now? What, since your wife just mocks our citizens in general? You mean to tell me, Norell, that you never had a single job before law enforcement? You haven't even been a real supervisor! Maybe you need to take the highroad when campaigning, sir, since you obviously don't care who you or your wife offend on the way...) KEEP SUSAN JOHNSON SHERIFF!!!! She is the only Sheriff I want!!!

Even though Mr. Norrell is akin to Wayne Newton, whom I adore, I still think Sheriff Johnson is the better Sheriff.

Susan has no experience fighting the type of crime coming into our county.

Susan Johnson but with the hope of improvement in the skills of her officers, especially anger management and learning to listen to both sides of a disagreement and to withhold judgement until taking some time to decide what to do (in non-life threatening situations). I have been very unimpressed with the angry attitudes in my dealings with some of the officers, although at least 2 of the officers I have had dealings with where professional and courteous, and I let the department know. I have provided feedback to the department on many occasions about both the negative and positive experiences I have had.

You are being totally judgemental and do not seem to have offered a single solution. "Humanity" generally stands for seeing the good in people as well as the negative. So the "white" kid asked what those geese where. What is wrong with a kid asking a question? I pray you are not a teacher.

Every time I see one of his signs, I say LOOK! Wayne Newton is running for sheriff!!

But I've heard he is a jerk.(Of course some off duty cop is going to call me criminal now)

The signs are his biggest problem. They'd be fine just without the picture.

I was very impressed when meeting him in person, and I was fully prepared to not like him.

I'm an off-duty cop, and I don't think you're a jerk.:-)

Norrell's resume is impressive as a cop. Certainly smashes Johnson's since she's never been a cop. If Currituck actually wanted a real Sheriff he seems to be a good candidate. Unfortunately Currituck seems to not want that.

I am also an off-duty cop that doesn't think you're a criminal, lol.

He has the experience and fresh up to date ideas that this county needs. Currently our sheriff is in her position by default and I believe that its time Currituck County got out from under the current rule. The deputys support this change and most of the county supports the change as well. Too many things have been swept under the rug with the current sheriff, Currituck County needs a new direction and that new direction is Donnie Norrell.
