I see nothing wrong with this, it is a good medical tool for schools. If you dont care to see it then don't go. But leave the right of the people who want to see it alone.

Could the possibility exist that American political prisoners , their skin removed, be used for this exibit while Americans gawk at them for profit ?

What about the rights of the humans on display? I am not religious in any way, but those people yes they are people, have rights. What about those peoples last rights and their believes. If they did not donate their bodies to science that means what has happened to them is against their last wishes. Think about how you want to be laid to rest...would it be flayed and displayed for people to walk by you and say "Oh look dude thats so cool." Even if these people did donate their bodies...did they know for what? Think about the rights of those people before you declare your "right" to gawk at their mutilated bodies.

All bodies on exhibit are legally donated bodies. They are donated to science. Be it for research, organs, or cadavers. This exhibit is no different than bodies being used as crash test dummies for luxury cars, being dissected in anatomy courses or testing for surgical procedures. Should curiosity of the human body be reserved for those who can afford to attend medical school? I think that this display is great for those who have a natural curiosity of the inner workings of the beauty and complexity of the human body that many of us take for granted.

I find it humorous that this exhibit is a bigger controversy than bodies that are donated to science being used to test the effects of various cosmetics. I think being poked in the eye with the latest high priced mascara, having too much botox injected into a corpse, breast augmentations and liposuction, or strapping it into the latest luxury model SUV is a greater injustice to those who have donated their bodies to science.

Think about that when you are purchasing your next anti-aging face cream or strapping yourselves into your import car while sipping your skinny vanilla latte.

I just saw BR At Turtle Bay in Redding, CA. I asked those who were working at the exhibit. A quire statement eh? Anyway, they stated that they were from China. Additionally, they stated that they gave their bodies to science. The frames were smallish and Asian. As a note, I have been around bodies before, but usually in much different circumstances and felt very uncomfortable about it. I am a teacher and took two of my students to see it. Afterwards I asked them what they thought of the exhibit. One said that he felt that it was disrespectful to those who were dead. My other student really did not give me a straight answer.
I would not take anymore students or my own children to see it.
On a final note, they had human stomachs that were treated and allowed viewers to handle--I passed.

Things like this, if accepted by enough peoples within societies, begin to evolve the more they go widely unchecked, much in the manner that slavery evolved, but eventually was checked, to a degree. What if, for instance, dead bodies were preserved in like manner (some years in the future), but instead were filled with a robotic-skeletal fillament that allowed them to be animated into androids. Say these robots with the bodies of dead humans were employed into fields of sex-work for "scientific awareness", while the whole time a few big organizations got payed much money from these legal scientific-prostitution rings... Is this scenario not so unsimular from what is happening with these bodies? What good is the difinition of legality when it obstructs the rights and wishes of a person, dead or alive? If you woke from the dead to find your innards and genital splayed in museums for children to gawk at, would you be as supportive?

This was one of the most educational displays that I have seen as an adult. I think people should be encouraged to go. If you have ever had a cramp in your leg or a hip that hurt I think you should go check this out. Check it out and then make a judment if you would like to be educated or not.

What is wrong with some of the people on this post? Sex-workers? Political prisioners? What? All the bodies in this exhibit donated themselves to science so that point is moot. The exhibit is educational and fasinating; appropriate for all ages. Go see it and learn something Shasta County, you need it, badly.

how do you KNOW it was voluntary "donation"??? Have you ever been to a Chinese prison? How much do you KNOW about Communist countries??? Don't be so naive. The people were murdered for money.

This question alone makes us look ignorant and stupid. People, this is what the human body looks like on the inside. Nothing to be afraid of. It is called science. If you are so concerned about legal issues, lets have an American exhibit using the authorization letters signed by the individuals on display. Can we all agree that we need education, actually more and continuing, rather that less and a one time deal... We are not the third world here.
