That flag was captured fair and square. Are you an indian-giver?
It is about honor. Obviously, you have none. I suspect you never served on a battle field. If you had, you might know something about honor, Animosty lessens greatly after 40 to 50 years. Even WW11 GI's are meeting with their former Japanese and German enemies. Hanging on to a captured battle flag, 140 years after he battle , is classless and childish

I will be happy to contribute and raise funds for this memorial as soon as Minnesota gives back to Virginia, The battle flag it captured at Gettysburg. Virginia has requested the return of the flag on numerous occasions, but Minnesota has always said no. The confederate states seem to have more honor. The state of North Carolia, returned the Rhode Island battle flag that they had captured at the battle of Middleburg. Common Minnesota : cough it up !
If they do anything with it they should burn it.

The only ones that should have a say in returning the battle flag are the ones that fought and died to capture it. They aren't here anymore. You're a loser.

There is a big difference in the war of the rebellion and any other war. In this war we were fighting against traitors. we offered them amnesty and parole. They took it and proceeded to violate it by murdering U.S.Soldiers, officers, and citizens who happened to be black. Then proceeded to shove those who we liberated from slavery back into something resembling slavery. Now, after 150 years, the same traitors are saying, oh shucks, we are celebrating our heritage, we ain't racists, there were lots of black confederates. Not as many as 200,000 USCT.

You all should have been hanged. Nuremburg trials for you all. You got away easy traitors. Lee, Davis, all of you SOB's hanging would have been too easy. Murdering scum. Traitors all.

And to think we gave some of you your flags back.
