Just to add to this post: Speedway on Lee and Rockside was robbed at gunpoint the following night. Of course, the robber got away.

No, it was pretty quick from what I understand. They brought out the dogs but those dogs can never seem to find anything. It seems those stores on that corner are always getting robbed. That's why Teresa's pizza moved out of there. I think they got robbed a half-dozen times.

Yeah, they just don't seem to solve the crime, or is it nobody on M.H.P.D. really gives a S H I T ???

Well,I just purchased a Glock P21 45 13 rounds in the clip lol. They won't have to try and identify them, cause most of the brain will be on the wall LOL...

The problem in that area are the apartments. It seems the thief always takes off on foot. I don't know if he runs into one of the apartment buildings or has a getaway car in the parking lot of one of those buildings, but either way, it makes it difficult for the police to find the suspect after the crime is committed.

The first thing police do is call every available car where they surround the area the suspect was last seen. One or two officers talk with the victim(s) and get any additional information or video if one is available. Then they call out the dogs to try and track the suspect(s) involved.

In Maple Heights, such a call gets you a minimum of three squad cars within two minutes. I really can't fault the police. Some times they get the bad guy and most times they don't. But there is only so much they can do.

I remember last time that station got robbed. One police officer seen the suspect running when the call came in. He happened to be there just at the right time. They still didn't catch the guy, but you could hear the officer running his heart out over the radio.

That little stretch is isolated. Thugs ran the bakery, the dollar store, and Teresa's Pizza out of there. That Quick Deli used to get robbed until they put in the bullet proof glass. They did that years ago.

The new location for Teresa's isn't isolated and is on the edge of the city. Much harder to rob that plaza than the ones on South Lee. As you said, those apartments across the street from Speedway are like mazes.

Actually, my first apartment was right there on Rockside Road. I remember walking to the convenient store to buy beer. Back then, it was quite a lively place. The few times I've been through there lately, it seems so deserted.

MAPLE HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO)-

The suspect wanted in a deadly shooting in Maple Heights has surrendered to police.

The shooting happened on Sunday at 2:30 a.m. on Rochelle Avenue.

Police units arrived and found a 26-year-old man shot and bleeding on the ground. The victim, identified as Marlon T. Alexander Sr., was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During a party a fight had broken out between numerous people and it escalated to the shooting. Three adult males were taken into custody shortly after the shooting. They have not yet been charged.

Kelvin A. Mathis Jr., turned himself in Tuesday at the Maple Heights Police Department. He was accompanied by his attorney. Mathis was taken into custody without incident. He will be arraigned on charges later this week.

The investigation is ongoing.

I sometimes get gas at that station, but I been there only during the day. I think that station got robbed before already. Maybe all businesses should have double doors like at the banks and when the crook-thug-a$$hole makes for the door, lock him in between the doors and keep him there until the cops arrive.
Just a thought....anyone ever hear of a doughnut shop getting robbed? lol! Maybe sell doughnuts at all of the stores, gas stations, hair parlors, hardware stores, etc., then maybe cops will hang around all the stores and there won't be any more robberies! lol!

A facebook friend posted a recent story about a jewelry store robbery in California. The heading in the paper was that police don't advise others doing what this clerk did. When the guys came in to rob her with a gun, she took out her gun and pointed right back at them. The clowns turned around and ran out the door.

I replied that only in big-lib California would the papers print that. Over here, we celebrate when the clerk kills or at least injures a lowlife. We have a party if he or she gets several of them. In California? Just give them whatever they want. LOL!
