These adjoining property owners should hsave done their homework and found out that there was a sportsman range next to them when they bought their property. The homestead propert they purchase has probably been there 150 years. They came from out of state and now want to have their privacy and quiet time next to a shooting range. How stupid is that? They need to move to Stratton mountain.

Owen wasn't here in 1986. Owen showed up after his brother died about 1990, saw the green, stayed with his sister in law, and never left.

There has been a shooting club there since the 30's.

When you plan to reside on "Rod & Gun Club Road" you might want to anticipate a Rod & Gun Club in the neighborhood.
These neighbors give our court system a bad name since they can just keep tormenting; it seems like they can't accept they lost their initial issue so they will keep at whatever they can grab just to keep the battle going. Shameful.

This is a classic case of one citizen using the power of government to coerce another citizen. Government should opt out of this game but it loves feeling important and powerful so will not. Hale Mountain should sue this guy for harassment.

All your whining does not negate the fact that the gun club did not follow proper procedures. If it had been the "flatlanders" you'd be yapping for them to be penalize. The laws should apply to everyone equally.

It must be nice to piss away money on something you won't win and should not even have the right to complain living that far from the improvements. If you were respectable people you would take the money you have to throw away and use it to help children or people in need, but as the case of so many wealthy people its more money then brains.if you don't like the club, then move! as they were there long before you and won't be leaving or giving in to your stupidity Go Hale Mt. Fight these Losers All the Way, make them spend their money stupidly, we are on your side. Maybe Owen and company should try Williamstown Ma. they would like people like you. You'll fit right in.

Why don't you get the truth of what is really going on. The honest Club members nows what was there when the Beauchesnes moved there. When the Beauchesne moved there was only a 200 yard range. Thats it! now its 525 yards and the club says they didn't expand! I don't feel the beauchesnes are harassing the Club it looks quite oppsite. Keep it up some day those Shooters will know the truth.

And in Williamstown, people built by the Harriman Airport and then complained when it came time to trim the trees because they were a hazard to the planes.

You shouldn't need a permit to work on privately-owned property. Just another means of government control unquestioned and unchallenged by the sheeple.

The club did. The town didn't. Permits were asked about in the past. The ZA said the club was exempted, "Pre-existing". The unfortunate part is there was no record kept by neither the town nor the club.

Wrong Owen

There has been a 500 yard range in existence prior to 1970. It had overgrown and was reopened. It even shows in you tainted aerial photos

The story is as clear as a bell.... Law states Site Plans must be issued before permits are granted.... Permits granted without Site Plans which makes PERMITS BOGUS..... Who issued the permits, a fellow member of the club?????

The legal "loophole" - it doesn't matter if the club is right or wrong... it still costs (a lot) of money to defend yourself. A motion should be filed to stop the neighbors from filing any more motions and to end these frivolous fighting and law suits. How much money and time have the Beauchesnes cost the already overloaded Court system? THEY should be fined and penalized!
