If you want to turn down the vitriol and rhetoric, then you should find a different writer than Alden.

Alden, may wish to replay the president's speech. He does not, at least in his speech, agree with Alden.

Very well put Ken--the Tea Party hadn't even started getting involved when this punk started his hate for Gabby.

"The man did, however, have clear leanings to the left. Copies of the "Communist Manifesto" and "Mein Kampf" were said to be found in his home."

That's some spurious "logic" there, Kenny. Are those the only two books he owned or just what was cherry-picked out of many as spin-worthy? This may come as a shock, but some people read books to learn about things outside of their purview (Which may be more common among the left leaning.). Besides those books unto themselves really have nothing to do with the actual American left, that is just right-wing fairy tales/scare-mongering.

The truth is he was a follower of groups that the tea-party has included as its own. Thus, no real difference.

What the right wing kooks never figure out that a German wrote the first book postulating that capitalism did not cure itself it would evolve into socialism, and then into communism -- and other writer was a right wing kook, e.g., the lead Nazi.

The other fact of history that right wingers you people don't get is that capitalism works fine when vast natural resources are available to it. When they are gone -- it doesn't work and evolves into something else -- unless it is restrained.

Get over your right wing kook and lies. The word Socialist -- as used by the Nazi's did not mean liberal. But hey, this is a classic example of right wing thinking that cannot connect the simplest of dots. If you could, you would "think" there is something wrong with your claim -- that the man who murdered millions because they were jews -- and who wanted to rule the world, and eliminate everyone who wasn't blond and strong -- was a liberal!

I could give you many more examples that prove you wrong, but I doubt you have the mental capability to get it.

All political parties are to blame. Get rid of parties. They are a waste of money. A waste of effort that could be placed elsewhere. Why do we have parties? GREED and POWER.

If the media had any sense or morals, they wouldn't mention the killer's name and plaster his face on the front page or screen every hour. Why let him bath in his glory? Let him remain faceless and nameless.

Now that is interesting. Can you supply the name of the "German" and title of his book? How about a few quotes from him/it. Could you provide more information to support this statement" The other fact of history that right wingers you people don't get is that capitalism works fine when vast natural resources are available to it. Also what type/form of "government" do you believe works best?

Lok like the Obama doesn't quite agree with ALden-at least not in his speech:
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/obama-speech-t...
From the Obama’s Tucson speech:
But at a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized -- at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than we do -- it's important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.”
“For the truth is that none of us can know exactly what triggered this vicious attack. None of us can know with any certainty what might have stopped those shots from being fired, or what thoughts lurked in the inner recesses of a violent man's mind.“
“But what we can't do is use this tragedy as one more occasion to turn on one another. As we discuss these issues, let each of us do so with a good dose of humility. Rather than pointing fingers or assigning blame, let us use this occasion to expand our moral imaginations, to listen to each other more carefully, to sharpen our instincts for empathy, and remind ourselves of all the ways our hopes and dreams are bound together.“
“it also forces us to look forward, to reflect on the present and the future, on the manner in which we live our lives and nurture our relationships with those who are still with us. We may ask ourselves if we've shown enough kindness and generosity and compassion to the people in our lives. Perhaps we question whether we are doing right by our children, or our community, and whether our priorities are in order. We recognize our own mortality, and are reminded that in the fleeting time we have on this earth, what matters is not wealth, or status, or power, or fame -- but rather, how well we have loved, and what small part we have played in bettering the lives of others.”

The names of the cited documents were in the post I responded to. Look them up.

To answer your last question is not possible. It takes thought to understand the connections between natural resources, life, culture, using the brains the Good Lord gave most of us, etc. Right wingers don't show the capability to get the inter-relationships. They want simple one thought answer to complex questions. And that will not happen until we can inject right wingers with higher another level of thinking, empathy and the Golden Rules for starters.

Typical right wing nonsense. You disagree with everything Obama says, until there is one line you agree with -- then you start posting his words, as if it will give you a new mantra of respect.

Well it won't!

Again are you serious??? You are making an assumption that is way off base. I never said I disagreed with "everything Obama says" I just said I was not a fan of Obama. There have been other presidents I was not a fan of on both sides of the isle. Disagreeing with someone also requires one to be courteous and also praise them when you do agree with something they have said or done.* In fact it would be lubricious for anyone to believe "everything" a president says. It is interesting to note that the "left wing" was bashing his speech. I do not need a mantra for gaining respect, I don't care if you or others donot respect me-that is your right. That was a silly, childish sophomoric statement. What is so lacking in your life that you are driven to call names, insult and misdirect? If you are looking for respect, then make more rational statements, DISCUSS with, instead of putting down, the people who don't see things your way. Provide evidence and info/date that supports your points/your opinion.
Keep an open mind and look at all sides of an issue. A person can respect one who exhibits those qualities even if they may not agree with them.

That said I am beginning to believe Dr.Phil is correct we should stop enabling you. Actually best course is to just ignore you and let you rant your vitriol.

*interesting several of us AGREED WITH some comments YOU made in another thread and you went ballistic with us-what was that all about?

Funny the only time you ever agreed with Obama is when in a moment during a funeral -- he mused that Tucson shooter wasn't a right winger (knowing that the FBI has not completed its work)-- And now that I pointed out this was the only time you ever agreed with him -- you're whining about me telling the truth again.

I'm serious about this: Your a right wing kook who would whine no matter what was said or by whom. Now run along and go play your games somewhere else.

Stop the lying. I did not go ballistic. I told truths that sent you right wing kooks into a tizzy again. The fact is the shooter, based on the information released so far was in love with the right wingers. Learn to deal with what you characters have made.
