I am sick of men getting girls pregnant and not wanting to take any responsibility for it. I have seen this happen to a lot of girls, but recently it hit close to home. This guy Josh Davis got my little sister pregnant, and will not take any kind of responsibility for it, and on top of that he treats her horribly. He tried to make her have an abortion, but she wouldn't do it. They finally agreed that she would let him sign his parental rights away so that he wouldn't be held financially responsible for the child. But only under the condition that he would be involved in his childís life, but he decides the he didnít want this baby interfering with his life, so now he wants her to give the baby up for adoption . It is hard for me to believe that there are so many men in this country who just wonít do the right thing. God knows itís hard to take care of, and love a child that was a surprise, but it shouldnít all fall on the mother to do. My little sister does not want anything from this guy, but for him to be a half way decent father so that their child wonít become another statistic.
I personally believe that any man who helps create a child should either be a involved parent or be thrown in jail. I know it sounds drastic, but there are too many kids who are wrecking our society, because one parent was left holding the bag while the other walked away.

The same thing happened to me when i was 17. After telling my childs father that i was pregnant, he and his whole family decided if they denied it, it would go away. Well she is almost 21 today and has only seen her dad once~~never really "met" him~~he totally ignored her. I could always live and deal with what he done to me. The hardest part was explaining to my child why he done what he done. Men--if you choose not to be a father at least be man enough to tell this child why. Don't leave it up to the only person who has been there for them--their mothers. Its the most heart breaking conversation a mother can have with a child. The only good thing~~i got too love her double to make up for his selfish decisions.

I can relate to this topic, I am 15 years old and I am 5 months pregnant, my childs father went to jail in march, and he was said to be released in dec, we had spilt up and was going to work things out when he got out, well he gets into more trouble, while he was in jail, and is now facing 2-20, he has a court date in sept. this is so hard on me, that my child has to go through her life with out a father, I grew up with out my father, and now me being 15 it is going to be hard to be a single mother, but I can do this.
Just a thought

Before engaging in a sexual relationship...get married. This will eliminate most problems. For those that divorce, we have laws that now go after deadbeat offenders.

the same thing happened to me i was married and had two children by the same man the first one i had months early and he left me, then we got back together for a week and he left again, then i found out i was pregnant.he was around the first child for appx.1 month in his whole life (he is now 12) and never seen my other whom is 11.we had paternity as he denied my children and came back 99.9% he was the father, still to this day he has nothing to do with them luckily i found a good man while pregnant with my 2nd child who raises them both as his own and my children know no different.so good things can come out of a dead beat dad.

yeah well alot of these girls are married to the dogs and have every right to get pregnant, maybe the men should take resposibility for their actions also you know it take two to make a baby.
and who stated they didn't want the baby?
maybe you should learn how to read or some comprehension skills.

My kids dad hasn't seen them either in years. If they don't see their kids, that goes to show what type of person they are and they don't need to be around the kids, period! Go to the courthouse, in divorce division, get some paperwork, serve him, take him to court, and you will get your child support. He could lose his drivers license if he doesn't pay and plus, they will garnish his wages. He will pay whether he likes it or not!:D

If men dont want the responsibility of children then the need to get there nuts clipped. I would save everyone concerned alot of headache and money. Im not putting all the crap on the man but they are the ones that usually dont seem to give any type of time interest or money in the deal. Society unfortunatley is picking up the tab with the welfare it takes to insure at least a healthy start to these children.
As far as dead beat dads I believe they should loose every rigt they have if they can not take care of their children. Put them in somesort of work camp so their earnings can be put toward the welfare of the child

I am a Father who had my child at 19 and me and the mom split up shortly after he was born and I started drinking and doing drugs and missed out on 5 years of my childs life and regret every minute of it. I still got my boy some but not nearly as much as I should have. But now I have turned my life around and me and my boys mother are now married and he is 9 years old and I spend as much time with him as I can to make up for lost time. So hang in there ladies some dead beats can change and I hope yours wake up and smell the coffee and do the same.

Gotta correct you there on the,"Only good for one thing"....it should read..."They are only good for one thing and most of them aren't good at that!!!!" I never asked for child support, and they never had any say so in how I raised my children...It's a hard thing to do but hell, I can do miserable all by myself, I don't need a man who doesn't want to grow up telling me how to live or raise my babies!!!
