Yeah, I have to say that if I had seen that, I would have been preparing myself to chase after the kid that hit him when he sped away. Not to say that he's some great kid for stopping, but I know that a lot of 17 year-olds would have fled.

Hey NU, What makes you make a statement like this? I am the father of two teenage kids, I have taught them to be responsible for their actions. I think this young adult sould be commended for doing the right thing and stopping. If you know a lot of 17 year olds that would of fled maybe you need to talk to them and teach them values and morals. This young adult is going to be traumatized for life knowing the person they hit is dead. I say kudos for stopping and accepting responsibility.....

I understand what you're saying. I think I was just making the point that this SHOULD just be expected bahavior to stop and wait for the if you did something like this. I've been hit before while riding my bike, and the person didn't stop at all. In fact, I couldn't get anyone to stop, even when I was lying in the street losing volumes of blood. Therefore, maybe my opinion on whether someone would actually care enough to stop are a little jaded.

You need to have a good plan if you are going to play in traffic.

Thanks Scottie for the apology. That was very nice of you. Hopefully we can get past our personal feelings and get on with our lives. Hopefully we have both learned from this is little tiff. Hopefully You and I can move on and not be too hurt over what was said to each other. I will do my best to get past this if you promise to do the same. I will tell my physcologist that everything is going to be all right. Have a great day.

Well if I remember correctly alot of people here lately are wearing dark clothes, at night while either crossing or walking on the side of the road. When I was taught if you had to walk on the street, and or cross at night, you were to face traffic, and or wear bright clothing. So that people could see you. And that is good that the kid stopped, if he hadn't he would have been made out to be the worst person alive.

It sounds like this guy was contemplating suicide the way the report made it sound. First, he was walking one way, then another way, then back the previous way. Not a very good time and place to get confused. Make up your mind dude.

I feel sorry for the teenager.

no matter what the circumstances were, there is a life lost here and a young life that will be affected by this for the rest of his life. my thoughts go out to the family of the man that lost his life and to the young man who had the courage to stop and wait for the police.

In that lovely area of town that the police know all about but won't take the dealers off the street.
What was it drugged victim, or drugged driver? Anyone want to take bets?
