I read a book about this murder; it was horrific. She's scary.

Colleen Slemmer did not get a second chance at life. I'm glad to hear Pike is 'reformed' but the punishment should still stand. What a monster.

The events of Pikes past should not warrant her to continue living. She took another persons life in a very violent way and the punishment for that should be carried out. I feel for Slemmer's family having to go through all of this again. Pike fought for her man and murdered now she should accept the consequence.

I agree the person she killed doesn't get any second chances at life and she shouldn't either. I'm sure her family will suffer and I feel sorry for them but am eye for an eye.

Let her live with life in prison, she will be miserable the rest of her life. I belive that to be punishment for her crime in this life. Don't give her a break by sending her "out". She committed the crime in this life so allow her torcher to continue in this life.

kill her. Why does she get a second chance if the person she killed doesn't get a second chance ?

Kill her the way she killed. Let her die a very violent death and not the quick death of the electric chair or lethal injection.

I remember when this horrendous murder occurred in Tyson Park, very near where I lived in UT housing. No matter how abused this murderess was in the past there is no excuse for murder. Fry her!

Only through her reformation can she now understand how valuable life is. That is why she is being punished and that punishment is death. She's already had well over a decade. It's a shame. Just imagine the remorse and sorrow these young men involved in the current brutal double murder will have. They'll have it... 20 or 30 years from now after we clothe and feed them. Supply them with an education and more. Then they'll understand what they've done. They won't be the monsters they were either. But too little too late is just that. The wages of sin is death...maybe God will have mercy the court should not either case I mentioned.

Curious as to why she hasn't used the "I'm Saved, been reborn, and have Christ in my life" defense, also. That's usually the path most of the animals take when they want to go out to hunt again. While not a lover of the death penalty, in this case I feel it was justified, and no question of her guilt.

I think she should be executed now. She is a monster that took another life. If our courts would get serious about the death penalty it would prevent crime.
She has the right to appeal, her victim did not.
It is always about the rights of the convicted.

I saw her on a tv program she is not one ounce sorry for what she did, she was smiling like what she hsd done didn't bother her at all, on the program she said smiling that she was sorry but what was done is done and she can't change so i say let her die a slow and painful death just like that girl did, she's a monster and knoxville will be rid of her we should'nt let death roe inmates sit 20-30 years and have tax payers pay for everything they need, they get better medical care, dental whatever they need and why they're going to die so why waste the money

no, i don't think she need a second chance because, on a prison document film she stated that she was not sorry if she could she would do it all over again....MENACE

I saw the program on her as well. In the program it states that the family of Colleen Slemmer hasn't buried her yet because of her head being evidence. Each time this monster appeals she is holding up the closure that the family needs. It must be awful to be going thru this for Colleen's family. I cannot imagine. There's too much heartbreak in the world today... We need stiffer penalties for monsters who rape, commit murder, child molestation - these should all simply face the firing squad! Trial then justice. Simple. We'd have much less of all these crimes if it were that way here.

This is unbelieveable! I can't believe that someone would even entertain the thought of letting this so-called person out of prison. Her victim did not get a "second chance". People choose the paths that they take in life. We choose to do the things that we do whatever they may be. By the direction of the way things have been going, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't let this person out! Hello!!! Someone stand up for US, the ones who do not murder, attack, and rape! Keep us safe from people like this! Thank you!

I remember that brutal murder. NO, she should not be able to even sit and eat and enjoy food that we provide for her. She deserves to be omitted from society; the sooner the better. She had no compasion for the life she took, why should anyone even consider any type of freedom for her. I agree the death penality 100%. Get rid of some of these freeloader killers, so our children will not be victims!

she should get the chair immediately just like the people who killed the young guy and his date in east knoxville. why are we even housing her any longer?

I agree with all of the above. The victims don't get a second chance when murder is involved so why should these animals who choose to do it? They want to claim they are changed or they are insane. How crazy is that? Everyone has days when they are a little insane but that doesn't make them kill anyone.
Us taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for losers like this to sit on death row and eat good meals and have tv, medical, tv, schooling and everything else that they recieve. That's more like a free luxury then a punishment.
Get rid of these monsters as soon as their trial is over and not only will people maybe get the point that the US won't tolerate it but our prisons and jails won't be so overcrowded that they let the drug dealers and child rapists and so on out because they don't have room.
Our children need to be able to be safe as well as the adults.
