I know times are tough in the economy, especially for small towns, and especially for the restaurants that aren't big chains around here. But have you noticed it seems to be bad luck for businesses to change ownership?

Bob's Mountaineer-I thought I had heard ownership changed. In this case,I also heard prices were raised and the food wasn't as good anymore.I have no real say because I myself have not been there in over 2 years. But if they did change owners, you see they have obviously shut down.

American Pie Pizza-I don't know if anyone on the non-411 side of town even knows about American Pie,but they have been open for quite some time, and their food's not bad.Didn't partake in movie rentals or anything, but they had pretty good service.I used to somewhat know the previous owner and he was a really nice guy with a really good head on his shoulders. He sold the pizza place though(most of the employees did stay though)and now I noticed it has closed.Btw,if anyone knows why or what not,let me know..never got a real why on that..just drove by and no signs are up anymore.I myself am guilty of going to papa john's now whereas I used to only order from them.Maybe it's bc Little C's,Lucky's,and Danny's have all popped up.

Who knows, but it does seem to be a trend for the newly owned businesses to go under..note..if you own a small one, maybe you should stick with owning it yourself lol.

I saw that Craven Wings has a sign on it calling the place "Willies Restaurant". I wonder what's up with that.

We are temperately closed..Our new location is in the Macon Crossing Plaza by Kroger's in Seymour. We should be reopening in about a month, maybe sooner. You can keep up with us at our website cravenwings.com or become a fan on facebook. We look forward to serving our customers, fans, family, and friends again real soon.

What about the Mexican restaurant that took the place of Bob's? Is it any good or does the empty parking lot tell the true story?

I hope for your sake you get your prices more in line with reality.

Meatballs pizza or something like that..that little corner area of Seymour seems to have bad luck with busineses so I don't know..there's already plenty of pizza places anyway.

I heard the food was horrid.....and this came from a woman who'll eat anything. There was a Mexican place in the shopping center behind the South Knoxville Library with the same name & same sign. It had some of the lowest health scores I've ever heard of. I thought it had closed long ago & then apparently opened up in the Blount County / Seymour area in the old Bob's Mountaineer location.
All else aside I do think the empty parking lot tells the tale there. It's a real shame too. I think a good Mexican place would go over good here in Seymour.

Why does Seymour need those places? Is it too difficult to drive to Knoxville and/or Sevierville for those?

For one,we need a good sit down restaurant..and something like Cracker Barrel is already established..same goes for everything around here-these little no name places pop up and either have horrible service and/or food,or they've gone under in less than a month. All the places that are chains/already "established" seem to be doing just fine.

Just an opinion anyway :)

Meatballs Pizza Buffet in the old 2 Jays/Pixie building has good food at a fair price. An attentive waitress & their good food gets a thumbs up & my recommendation to try them out.
Sadly, I noticed today that "Best Deli Ever" has closed up shop.

For good Mexican food try Panchos near Chapman & John Sevier Highway. The lunch menu is really priced right. Big portions, great taste.
