Just wondering, has anybody else had a bad experience at IHOP on Chapman Hwy? Although their wait staff changes very often and the food has not been good recently, that's no excuse for rude behavior. For example, have you had a waiter ask you, BEFORE YOUR FOOD ARRIVES, how you intend to pay your' bill? Have they lost their minds?? Have you had the waiter sit down in the booth with you while taking your' order? Weird!! We used to like IHOP but...I think this particular restaurant has some serious problems. What's your' opinion?

Was there the Sunday before Christmas. Our waiter had a booger hanging out his nose. Thankfully, we saw it after we finished our meal. He stood by our table talking and talking about nothing important; I thought he'd never shut up and go away.

On the other hand, we went to The Gondilier on Dolly Parton Parkway in Sevierville on Christmas Eve. We got the perfect waitress. She was knowledgable of the food, was entertaining with the appropriate amount of teasing banter, and anticipated our needs during our meal. Very enjoyable meal!

OMG!! Amazing how that place (IHOP) has kept it's doors open with experiences like this! Maybe the owner will do some badly needed "house-cleaning" and then start over with a whole new staff!
One thing for sure, customers won't put up with absurd behavior from food servers like those described so far.

Will have to try the place you mentioned in Sevierville, sounds great! Thanks for your' response.

The iHop on Chapman Hwy. in So. Knoxville really stinks! It has never measured up to minimum standards, in my opinion. My friends and I won't go there at all.

Have you tried the one in Pigeon Forge? It's pretty good when I've stopped by there late at night.

Just thought I'd share this info. with the readers.
Don Dare on "Food For Thought" included this statement on his web site:

IHOP at 7609 Mountain Grove Drive - Grade: 64
(Chapman Hwy. location)

The inspector writes that food temperatures were off.

He found supposedly clean cooking equipment that was dirty.

There were several plumbing leaks, which aren't allowed in kitchen restaurants.

Grades under 70 indicate unsanitary conditions!! I will NEVER go back to that IHOP!!!

If you do happen to go in there you will only get the option of one of three servers. You can personally experience this because you feel like you are being tag teamed. I have been in there quite a few times and always get one of the three. When I tell them I want a different server, they tell me there is none available. I even watch sometimes and see one I have yet to get, in the backroom, sitting there because she has no tables. It is scary. I have even seen here wrapping silveware. I wonder why she can't wait on me.

The got a new manager who seems to be nicely running the place into the ground. I have recently noticed that there is a bunch of new people and way to many per shift. It is such a cluster it is almost as if no one knows what they are supposed to do.

In observing them for the last time, as I won't be back, the other day it is now clear to me:
There is no one in charge.

I went to Lowes the other day and decided to have dinner at I-hop since it's close by on Chapman Hwy. Gag!! What has happened to the food there? Have they changed cooks since they first opened? I'm not at all impressed with that place. The waiter that cleaned off our table used a dripping wet mildewed rag! We changed booths! Is it the economy that is causing these places to not care about quality or service anymore? That particular I-hop needs to fire everyone and should be shut down forever!

You mean it's still open for business? How come? Should have been reinspected and shut down long ago.

Went to I-HOP on Chapman just to see what it was like. Think I'll forget about it! I agree with everyone here. The service was not good and the food was worse!

I used to work at IHOP on Chapman, and it was an awful place to work as well. One of the managers there (who I always got stuck with) had her favorites, who was clearly not me and it really showed. I could only stand working there for two months which I am surprised I even worked there that long. The other waitresses were brutal when it came to getting tables even though we were supposed to have a fair sharing system going on. I would go up to the front podium to see how many tables were given to whom, and the other waitresses were given 9 or 10, and I had maybe 3 or 4 if I was lucky. Then the manager would see that I wasn't up to par on my tables and send me home.

I'm glad I got out of there when I did. It was an awful work environment!

This place is horrible. Filled with skeezers and sleezers. This isnt a work environment. This place is a place for people to joke around, rough house, play around, socialize and sleep around with eachother. I read these things on here and can believe them word for word. I dont even work there but I know someone who knows someone who does work there. From what I have heard before reading this forum I kinda figured and thought this IS how it is over there. Lack of respect between employees between opposite sex employees.,married women who go home to their husbands after a day of playin around with the men coworkers slapping and grabbing their ass. And men coworkers who think they can put moves on another mans woman just cuz she is too nice or maybe a little harmless flirtatious. Needless to say. Its poorly ran STILL by what this forum shows. Corporate needs to clean house and make what once was a good name place for respectable families could once go eat. Believe me this. Nothing has changed. People there putting the ”ho” in ihop. Its wrong. Sometimes a good person gets a job there and gets caught up in all this disrespectful, sexually harrassing and sleezy environment. A good person can easily get a bad name just for workin there. Clean house corporate!!!!!

I had to dine with a homeless person talking to himself and acting eradictly and frightening my 4 yr. old and was told that he's homeless and they allow him to roam the rest. at will. I also had a creepy server sit in the booth with me and my little girl. She was telling me how good my little girl could talk. When her case worker asked her kids about bumps and bruises they always commented that her kids don't talk well. Unbelievable will never go back. I was shaking after we left.

Food was awful too. I fed my hamburger to my dog when I got home. My little girl and I were terrified. When it was new we had breakfast there and enjoyed it and thought it was better than Shoney's. No freakin way anymore. This place is a pathetic excuse for a public eating establishment. It is honestly, with all my travel, the only place I have eaten at and been both terrified, furious and still hungry when I left.
