The bus goes within walking distance of every house in the county. But I guess your kid is a pansy and can't walk to the bus.
If I am gonna drive my child half way to school to meet the bus I will just drive them the rest of the way. I don't care who likes it and who doesn't. By the way, it takes a low person to get online and talk about children. That is one thing that is wrong with the world today people have no morals and no respect. By the way if people doesn't like traveling with the traffic who is taking children to school LEAVE EARLIER. Have a good day.

Yep, your brats are pansies. Too lazy to walk to the bus. You are an "enabler" and the cause of you brats being pansies. You are what's wrong today, I'll bet your brat has told you "NO" when you've told them to do something.

As a matter of fact my child is not a pansie or a brat but a good child. It is all in how a child is raised. Unfortunately you are showing your raising. Need I say more. I think not. You need to grow up.

Apparently you are having a hard time understanding me so I will make it in big letters. MY CHILD IS NOT A BRAT. Not that it is any of your business but my child is a good kid and he does his chores and stuff without saying no. Besides you can not expect a child to act like a grown up. I am through commenting. I am not gonna bicker back and forth like a child. Have a good evening.

Helloooo is poster child for dysfunctional parenting. Says a lot about your raising. Says a lot about what your child will turn out like. Poor kid doesn't stand a chance.

I had hoped enough parents could come together at the board meeting, to get some real security done for all our children. Instead of createing saftey issues of all kinds with this new policy. Sandy Hook shooter shot through the door lock after school started, with a pistol. Mounting hard steel plates over the lock area on all the doors, would do far more good to prevent improper entry after school starts. Common sense instead of knee jerk reactions are what is needed most. However from many of the postings on this forum, leaves me to believe otherwise. Much easier to see why are schools, fail to improve. Keep trusting the government in all things and become unarmed slaves to it. I still have greater hopes for mine.

i believe this new policy of dropping children off at the front door is an effort to keep everyones children safe.the children will adapt quickly and this will be the new norm for them.this alone will not stop a crazy with a gun.but maybe this is the first step to make it harder to get to our children.heavier front doors would also help slow down a crazy but ultimately i think someone on the inside with a gun must happen.one near the front doors at all times.a guard or a clerk in the office the principal.also another some where else in the school a teacher or janitor.and anyone who carries a weapon must be checked out and trained on an ongoing basis.and no one should know who is carrying a weapon to keep from making them a target.

I agree. I think children should ride the bus. I have 3 kids in school and they do. Their bus stops by our house at 6:00 a.m. Yes I think thats way too early but at the same time I feel that if there was less traffic at the schools, our chances of having a shooting are far less. I do agree with doing something about the doors and windows. Maybe making the glass and locks bullet proof.
can not believe all this

I have kids in another school systym and I have no problem with not being able to take my kids inside. As long as the security and traffic are under control, what is the problem? The comments I have seen on here have nothing to do with the security or safety of our children. Most are very rude and I would be ashamend to talk the way some of you have. IS this not about your kids? This is a new procedure and will take time to adjust. Once everyone gets in the habit of what to do; things will be so much better. I think parents should be allowed in schools at any time. But, until the systym is really in place, I can see the reason for trying to hurry and get the kids in and keep traffic moving. Not allowing the parents in, is not right however, what can be done at this point? I believe that if there is a problem and a parent needs to talk to a teacher, there needs to be a venue for this to happen. I would feel better if the all of us as parents could go in and check in on our kids at any time but, we have to be patient and see where things go. The big question is,( as to being able to check on our kids at any time,) is do we trust our teachers and school staff? If we don't then we need to get proof of wrong-doings and do something about it. If we know that our kids are safe with their teachers and are being treated the right way, then should we need to go in everyday. Maybe, if they could assign a different,(trustworthy,) parent everyday to be inside the school and make sure thigs are as they should be, would be one thing we could do. But, to talk and say the things on here that some are saying, is just awful. There shouldn't even be a comment about somethings. I hope that the meeting will be helpful and not make the parents look like they really don't belong in a school. I wouldn't want my kids around people that talk and or act like the ones on here that are talking about, incest. I see ne reason for comments like that or how stupid or whipping each other. What does it solve? What is it helping? We need to get back to where, we really do put the kids first and trust our teachers and school officials and if we can't; vote them out but, please, stop the ugly comments. They are not helping.

Global Post reported today:

"Parental overinvolvement may lead to negative outcomes in children, including higher levels of depression and anxiety. Studies also suggest that children of overinvolved or overcontrolling parents may feel less competent and less able to manage life and its stressors."

mom thinks today:

Love them, nurture them, teach them, discipline them, protect them ..... but stop the bull$hit of trying to over control EVERY SINGLE SECOND of their childhood. Let the schools do their jobs and let children be exposed to being a normal child. If you don't trust the school staff, then keep them at home and do it yourself!
