It was a busy place and that is why we decided to try it.
The service was friendly and the place felt warm and inviting.
"Jack Flaps" we thought were were getting a hometown version of IHOP/Denny's or a late night Connie's Kitchen.(Awesome place to eat) We were even hoping that we wouldn't be stuck driving 15 plus miles for a breafast dinner or have to suffer with Waffle House! Well, with one look at the menu we knew we had entered the wrong place. It looked like someone took pics off a computer and said.."Think I will serve this" and only ONE breafast option at dinner time. The menu didn't offer a WIDE variety so we decided this place wasn't going to be for us and we left. Afterall, when your waitress tells you that the vegi of the day is SPLIT PEA Something but that no one has ordered it yet...you are hesitant to try anything else for the first time.
The atmosphere was awesome! People were apparently enjoying themselves and once again..we felt the warm it portrayed! It was the food that didn't invite us! All of this without trying it...sorry. Let us know, when you try it, how it was!
We ended up driving down the road and found ourselves at the Chop House. This was our first time dining there and I have to say that I WILL GO BACK!
It had the warm and charm and an inviting staff. Warm bread served while we waited on our dinner. The menu was inviting and even our waitress helped in deciding when we were contemplating two different entrees. The salad arrived first and it was the best side salad I have ever had. It had fresh EVERYTHING on it and the dressing was made fresh...and tasted like it. Even if it was late when we entered the restaurant...the food tasted like it was just made! The meals arrived and I can't thank my waitress enough because the Prime Rib was AWESOME and both meals were mouth watering. You just have to try it.
The service, menu, presentation and food...I would give the Chop House an A!
Thank you Jack Flaps for not being what we expected because we were able to find the Chop House!

The food was horrible, dessert was stale and cost too much. Service was good.

By the looks of the parking lot the other night, there were more people in there than the entire time it was a Mexican joint.

We have been several times. We loved the burgers, the chicken, and the cobbler!.. Large portions of food and reasonably priced.... The staff is very friendly also!

My husband & I decided to try out this restaurant last nite 4-13-11 around 6:00pm. We did not get the waitress name. We ordered our drinks, coke & coffee with cream. The waitress brought them without the cream & stated she would return with it. After 5-6 min. my husband caught her eye & asked for the creamer. After 2-3 more minutes she returned with a saucer & said this was cream and thats all they had, stated out of little packets. We ordered our meal. I ordered the chicken & catfish dinner. The catfish was delicious, chicken looked great but could not pull it apart with my teeth due to chicken was rubbery. My baked potato was cold. My husband ordered the rib eye, loaded bake potato. His rib eye was so thin you could read thru it. His potato was hot. The waitress left and said she would return with his roll. We never saw her again until she brought the check. No nametag & she never told us her name. Brown hair with a blond streak in front. Tatoo on hand with chipped fingernail polish. This restaurant used to be family owned (Bobs Mountaineer). We were in such high hopes that this would be another great family place to eat. We were very disapointed and will not be going back.
Glad they are here

We've eaten at Jack Flaps a couple times now, and they're awesome. Great sandwiches! Try the chicken salad sandwich and the tenderloin. Friendly service, too. No wonder they're crowded!
Welcome to Seymour, J.F.!

It ought to be called "Ass Flaps" because thats what the food tasted like, and the service wasn't worth [email protected]!

One more Seymour restaurant bites the dust! I had high hopes for Jack Flaps.(According to these reviews JF's sucks)

What is it about the food places in Seymour that creates such poor tasting food and sorry service? Is it the immature help, untrained cooks, maybe both? Certainly, the management is not responsible enough to assure change.

Out of a lot of restaurant choices in this area, there's very few decent places to eat around here.
It's beginning to be a joke!
I agree

I bet you're the type of snotty nose people who are never happy with their meal and just want a freebie. Oh no, a tattoo!
