Hi I was wondering what everyone thought about this place... Does or would you work there? How is the care of the residents? Any other thoughts?

you may want to look at their last survey report from the department of health and senior services before you place your love one there or before finding employment there....not very pretty..........oh and before any smartasz ask it is PUBLIC information!

If wrongful death, abuse and neglect appeal to you, go for it

we have NEVER had abuse, neglect or wrongful death suits against us. I have worked there for 8 years. So we went through a bad couple of years but it's getting better. I would recommend it to anyone.

Another thing she was in isolation for C- DIF .But yet we go out there and she is sitting out were all the other residence were ,Real smart huh ,We took sippy cups out there for her, because she had parkinsons and couldnt hold a glass with out spilling it ,, They wouldnt keep the sippy cups in reach for her , She got dehydrated , U take all of that , No wonder she had kidney failure . I wouldnt put a dog back out there ! When hospice come in there for her ,there was alot of records missing out of her chart , that was supose too b there ! We also asked for her records after she passed and they told us they would be 600.00, like we had 600.00 .If they didnt have anything too hide, they should have give them too us !! They should belong too the patient any way .They lost a lot of people in about a months time !!!!

My grandma was there also. When she first went there. They was great there but as time went by things became worse. She also had c-dif and they would allow other patients into her room. Even when she was passing away. Im not saying that all there workers are bad people because I kno a FEW that has a good heart and means well. I do believe there are ALOT of them that needs to learn compassion.

I have mixed feelings for them as well. My grandmother was also in there and only stayed 2 months as she recupped from a broken bone. As she was being checked in a mennonite nurse was checking her in and saw a very very large bruise on her leg. My grandmother has been on blood thinners, very thin skin and bruises extremely easily. As she was measuring the bruise I repeated a question that my grandma was trying to say about her wearing depends. When I repeated her the woman smarted off we they shouldn't allow her to lay in the feces or urine. I take care of her myself and she didn't realize it. I looked at her stone coldly and notified her that I didn't allow her to lay in excrements. She half way smiled and said well well I mean our girls. Then turned around and tried to have be banned from seeing my own grandma saying I threated there staff. Yeah right. I didn't threaten her no did I turn them in when I would find my grandmother lying in dry feces on her bottom. I AM A CNA AND I KNOW THERE JOB AND CAN DO IT JUST AS GOOD!

this place has been talked about alot, before people believe in rumurs facts should be sorted out instead of listening to other people and co-workers. i have worked there for several years it is a great place to put your loved one in. we have great people who work their and really care and love our residents. i have had loved ones here and the care was good.

Facts. Drug test the CNA's properly and there wouldn't be any left to work! I guarantee that! I know several use meth n marijuana among other things. I sure the hell wouldn't want them taking care of me, let alone a loved one.

They need to definetly drug test their employees correctly, or send them somewhere for it so its done the right way. There are too many other people who need a job.

Shame on administration for the lack of care and shame on them for allowing others to take drug tests for employee's. I'm sure there are some good employees, but as the song says "one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch". Its a outrage that our elderly would have to endur any form of neglect at the hands of employees. Yes the state has sighted them and yes its public record.

My mother was in there several years ago. They nearly killed her. She had pneumonia, her insulin was totally out of whack(it couldn't be because she hadn't had an insulin shot for three days and she hadn't eaten, was in the ambulance they gave her insulin shot) she was dehydrated and there were more things. The administration and the workers and mainly the director of nurses ( I use that loosely) lied like dogs. Even the doctor was worthless. We moved her to Springfield to Magnolia Square.

MY ADVICE IS STAY AWAY IF YOU LOVE YOUR DAD

I read all the negative about the glenwood nursing home, however I have to tell you about what a wonderful place they are, my grandma was a resident there for many years, she was treated with dignity and respect, they took wonderful care of her, the staff there is very professional, I spent alot of hours there with her and never had any trouble at all. I know that doing that kind of work is one of the hardest jobs there is, and they do it well, the residents there are spoiled by the employees with lots of love and effection from what I always witnessed. No..they arent perfect, but who is? Dont be so hard on them, they have some really great staff who really care alot about the residents, unfortunately mistakes happen but dont make the whole facility out to be bad, they are GREAT

What a hard job and usually not enough employees. Those who work in nursing homes and don't quit, you are special people. It is so hard to find good help for nursing homes, especially with the pay scale.
