just found out that there's a separate charge for using ymca facilities and the pool. who in seymour can afford this? they really need to take into account that this is not the richest area around. sad

Would it be possible to speak at thier next board meeting? Maybe others can help you with your concern.

It is a MUNICIPAL pool that is just located at the YMCA. Anyone can use the pool WITHOUT being a member of the YMCA.

That's just the problem. The traditional media isn't going to do anything for anybody. They belong to a dying network of dinosores.

If you are disabled you can get special rates. That's a national Y policy. They won't tell you that over there because they want to keep out what they have judged is riff-raff.(Judge not that ye be judged.) But is you ask at the desk, they will reach under the shelf and pull out forms for you to look at and fill out. If you ask they will know you know the rules of the national Y. But they will never offer the info, will they?
We also need a topic here on how to get help with heating bills for this winter. At City Hal they know this info but again they will never tell you. It gives them too much fun to turn you off and push your buttons. Besides they get to collect all those $20 turn back on fees.

Observer, you crack me up! I have looked through the different topics for Seymour and I see that you are a part of nearly every one of them. Normally, that would be just fine. But I gotta problem with you. Instead of using your computer to get on here and offer real solutions to the problems of our little town, instead you use your computer to get on here (ALOT) and contribute to the problems! You remind me of the "mob leader" that has to rally the crowd to feed his/her sick hunger for controversary. It's as though you thrive on it...no matter what the topic is! Then, to top it all off, you want someone else to pay your heat bill? Here's an idea...
Cancel your internet and use that money to pay your own dad gum bills. Keep your mouth shut with all of your filthy slander and offer specific, productive, solutions to the problems at hand. Better yet, why don't YOU run for a city office?
But noooooo, instead you stand there with your hand out while people just pay your bills, feed you, give you discounts, etc... and the whole time all you can do is b!tch about it!
You can have that freedom when you are trying to be a part of the solution.....not the problem!
