well i have to say....i seen this train coming a long time ago...Stevie McCormick was destined to fail. His mother has been a life long welfare case. She has either been on welfare and food stamps or disability her whole life.Gov ernment assistance is her middle name. His father has been in and out of jail for drug dealing since the early 90's. His father only works in short spurts and hasn't paid enough taxes to ever recover the hoards of money his ex-wife has received through welfare. This young man was raised on an entitlement attitude.(free loading) and worst of all...his own mother was doing heroine right along side him this year. She helped get him hooked on her pain pills which we the tax payers paid for.I guess the whole wonder of this ordeal is why are people of this caliper allowed to have kids in the first place. they are not smart enough to take care of , or to have raised kids to begin with. As U.S. citizens we must take a test to drive, but allow any idiot to reproduce....sad sad story

I don't know either of the young men arrested. It is a shame that as a community we have failed our children. Every one looks out for there own, and in the mean while young people are being thrown away. My question is this, if some one, the first one who said he was destined to fail, knew this young man's life at home was bad, what did they do to offer hope, or encouragment to this young man?? what hope or help of a better life as ever shown him? These young men should be offered to go into the military, not locked up, they should be given a chance to learn now, because after prison, the soul is sucked out of them. Why is the school and the community not having fund raisers to put in a youth center open to all? what can a young person here do, other than pace the streets if your parents are poor>> Nothing, and all the one's setting back judging these young men but knew how they grew up suffering, is to blame, not them!May God have mercy upong them, and may God have mercy upon you that judge what you think, but do not know!

Compassion, while I can empathize with their plight growing up, they still have to be held accountable for their actions. Discipline either comes from within or from without, but it does come. The choice is yours. Hopefully they will learn from this and move on with their lives.

You shouldn't blame the parents. He's an adult, he make his own decisions. His mother has worked hard to take care of her family. You people don't have a clue so shut ur mouths.

Sadly, Jordan Mannix passed away recently. He was a friend of mine. He ran into hard times but he was a good man. We all make mistakes. Yes what he did was wrong. But we are all not blameless.

Did Jordan end his own life? I know of Jordan and everyone says nothing, as far as I know he wasn't sick. Someone said he died in his apartment in Scottsburg of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. I didn't see anything about that in the newspaper. We loved Jordan so much I just wished I could put it away.
