Very typical Government response to a failure. In order to bury their failures they reward those who simply did their jobs.

A success would have been possible strong entrance doors and adequate guard protection to prevent the disaster from occurring in the first place.

The only available of spinning this disaster into a Government success is to reward the first responders for simply doing their jobs. BTW, they are faced with the same carnage every day of the week responding to other disasters, many involving young kids.

RIP, Sandy Hook victims maybe some day the Government will protect the youth of America.

You idiots sound like a bunch of perps. These police are getting honored for helping out in a situation that NOBODY should ever have to be involved in- some of them will live with visions of an entire classroom of dead children for the rest of their lives. They are honoring police officers who responded from other towns as well.
You are honestly big morons if you can't see how 'this' is above and beyond the call of duty!!!
Now please GO GET LIVES!

What a joke why don't you give medals to the hard working people that break their azz everyday working hard dirty jobs so their money is taxed and property that pays all the civil service bums that do nothing all day.

Yes we are serious as a cop anything that happens that involves the safe well being of the public is part of a cop's job it is expected of them no medals should be given their medal is their paycheck every week and the benefits and pension that go with those jobs that's why if being a cop was such a difficult job no one would want it people want those jobs because it's a free ride in life so if you do get killed in the line of duty oh well it's all part of the chances you take when being accepted for that cop job and needless to say half of the cops out there are criminals themselves. and a good majority of them are on a power trip. even though we all know their woosies when they get home to their wives.

Having worked with police I can tell you they say their job is to deal with visions nobody can imagine. Yes Sandy Hook was way above terrible but much the same as what occurs every day in the world. RIP everyone injured or killed by a sick person or accident.

IF Government had done it's job there would have been a guard at the school with secured entry doors and this event would have never happened. I'm curious if the Government has done a better job of securing the new Sandy Hook school or are they still relying on a sign to stop killers?

.......Wow, no pictures of a live or dead perp, or victims. Who are you to judge what they saw. This is a cover-up of a very nasty incident. But tell me please, who has more to live with, the vet with an amputation and the incident that went with that, or these cops? These guys are getting way to much money and pomp & circumstance for what they alledgedly did, so what did they really do? Notice the gov't keeps cutting benefits for wounded warriors?

If you read about security in the Newtown school district they funded armed police officers at all elementary schools. Guess the NRA had a good idea.

However why not guards at all schools?

If an older grade level is blown up because there was no guard how will that sit with parents?
