We drove by the women laying on the ground. The police didn't even have her covered up. After they removed her body there was blood all over the driveway.

Another murder chalked up for Sevier County. Without a doubt if you want to get by with murder, come to Sevier county where we have the biggest bucnch of fat idiots for cops that continually pass off these murders as if they we shoplifters. Also another murder last week in Gist Creek where constable Jack Gaylon's brother was found lying behind his truck with a gun shot to his head and the gun was found in his truck in the door panel. He just happened to be in his Ex-wifes yard. Sevier Counties finest fat boys came and declared it a suicide, did no investigation and his brother was buried and the murderer is getting off free. Way to go fat boys. Seals need to get off his fat ass and supervise these clowns. No wait a minute, Seals is a fat ass clown also. Does it make you wonder why this murder has not been published in the local newspapers?

I am the the father of Jacquelyn's granddaughter and although Im not with her daughter anymore,we remain close and have a great relationship and a wonderful, vibrant 5 year-old little girl that is just beginning to read.I for one, am very glad you decided to share this vital information so that she may one day look this article up trying to understand why she had to grow up with her "Grammy" no longer in her life and she can look down and see your comment and know that at one of the moments that is going to be a painful memory and something that is going to change her world forever, that you drove by the scene and felt it necesarry to post, forever, another painful tidbit about the day she lost someone she loved that she really didn't need to know or that I want her to hear about on the internet.Maybe next time you want to put in your opinion about something that doesn't have anything to do with you, maybe think about the families and children who you are affecting with your "comments" that just were so important you had to post them for the world and, in this instance, my little girl to find later on in life and have another image that she doesnt need in her head. Thanks so much for your help in comforting the family during this time. I would normally tell you that I wish if any tragedy ever happens in your family that someone does that for you too, but instead of something that I think you would agree, is hurtful,I think you should think about who has to read your nonsense and if you are helping or hurting a situation before you post something for the world to read.Again thanks for making the memories even more graphic and truly brought nothing of value at all, to this story.

Please dont politicize a tragedy in someones family.I really dont think the police did the crime and I dont think theyre letting thieves and murderers go free because thats fun to them.If you think theyre doing that terrible of a job, you should run for an office or apply for a job on the force and do something about it instead of safely complaining from behind your keyboard where its totally safe and you can be critical of someone who cant defend themselves. If you have information that could help solve this terrible crime,by all means, post that.Until then you should probably keep your opinions to yourself so these public servants can do their jobs to the best of their ability without people like you giving them a hard time when you probably have no idea what your talking about.Im also curious as to your weight, because if your in such good shape you probably would be an asset to the force and should definitely apply.Keep up the good work of interrupting someones grief with your pettiness and total lack of respect for someone you would immediately call and expect help from if your home was broken into, or would you just solve it yourself, supercop? ps Did you see the front page of the sunday paper or did you just have an ongoing investigation you were whining about on another board so you couldnt see that article theyre hiding from people on the front page?Yep theyre sneaky.

You know what, I agree with you 100% people are cowards these days and if it was there family, they would want things like this said!! It is not important what people want to say the saw!!! Most people just want their name out there to think they are somebody. ASGL you know who this is and you know I am there for your daughter too. We are all at a loss right now and I can't believe this is happened. Hopefully it all works out and the kids will NEVER see this!

As a friend of Jackie.... I will greatly miss you my friend, you will always be remembered as a kind, happy, and friendly person. You were a simple soul who helped many, and cared about the people in your life. You always spoke dearly of your grandchildren. Your walk in life was always down to earth and simple, your laugh was contagious for those who knew your spirit. My garden will miss your helpful hands and the life you gave to my place. I was so very saddened when I heard of your passing.
You will be missed my friend. May the grace of God grant your family support and guidance through these difficult days ahead. May the person who is responsible for this terrible act of violence be found, identified, and punished for the terrible crime that has been committed on a woman who was kind, loving, caring, and a good person. I want the friends and family of Jackie to know that my prayers are with you, and extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Please contact Lori if you would like to reach me, she can give you my contact information.

Amen! I live near Waldens Creek and why had it not been told in the papers? Our fatboys in charge have no clue what they r doing and probably does not give two flips about this poor woman who kept to herself. Just because she was not a big somebody in this hick town with the right last name does not give them the right to disrespect her and not devote a page in the paper about her. To not even cover her up while it was being figured out??? God forbid if it was certain dirty judge hint (rhymes with mader)who had died they would have covered him with a sheet of gold and had the whole Mtn. Press devoted to him. Do your jobs good ol boys of our so called justice center even though she doesnt have one of the last names that defines what u are like here it does. She was someone too. Our police, justice and court system is so corrupt but what can we do

1st off my condolences go out to the family of Ms. Basner. Very sorry to hear this.
May I ask you all a question who are local to this murder? Is the crime rate going up a lot there, and if so may I ask who are commiting these crimes when they are caught? Is it other locals, or the thugs from the city driving out into the suburbs to commit their criminal acts?
I am only asking, because that is what's happening where I live in the Metro Atlanta area now. Thugs coming here from Atlanta to commit their crimes in my area, and I no longer feel safe. We were once a quiet community outside of the big city, but not any longer.
I am just seeing a lot of threads on here about crime in Sevier county in recent months, and it really reminds me of where I live. Once quiet low crime areas now seeing crime go through the roof.
I hope to move up to that area one day, and I just hope that things are not on a downward slide there as well. That's a beautiful area you guys live in, other than the horrible tourist traffic. Then again I have to drive in traffic like that every day where I live right now, being right off of the main road that goes to the Atlanta airport.

Again my condolences and sympathy go out to the family and friends of Ms. Basner. Very sad.:(

Why was there so much blood, was she on her period?? ASGL, you ass clown, here's a tip for you... if you don't want your daughter scarred by reading what people say, don't let her on the web site, that's your job as a parent. My job is to bust balls... also, consider we are in the good ol US of A, we have freedom of speech. I fought for it, I will exercise the right. Now like I said... so much blood because Aunt Flo came to visit or what??
What a horrible vile thing to say!! Shame on you! Freedom of Speech does not excuse poor manners. How would you feel if someone spewed such negativity about someone in your family who had been so brutally victimized? And the part that makes me even more furious, is you are then using your former military service as an excuse to be so callous. Here's a tip for you, if you want to spew your venom do so, but do not dishonor the many servicemen/and women who fight or have fought for our freedoms to justify your lack of proper upbringing and serious lack of class!

No one is criticizing our service people just the fat ass Sevier County Sheriff and his fat ass deputies for doing absolutly nothing to control crime in this county and keep covering up all the stuff going on. There have been murders after murders, theft after theft and dope after dope and the Fat ass clowns of the Sevier County Sheriff department are doing absolutly nothing but trying to cover up all the real crime happening. If more effort was palced in trying to deal with the serious crime instead of getting Rader some more community sevice people to make more money for the probation people and make sure the trash is picked up along 416 in Tommy Watts district, then we may feel more safe. Seals and his cronies are just a joke!~!

I am so tragically sorry for your loss. I saw your MIL out in her yard many times and often with little ones who I am assuming are grandchildren. I even remember the yard sale she had not to long ago. This has honestly really affected me in so many ways. I dont understand how this could of happened feet from a fairly busy road and yards from a busier cross street. In mid morning to boot. Just an absolutely senseless thing. I know I wont rest easy until there is at least a suspect. I know you all must have a million whys yourselves. I pray God allows you peace knowing your MIL is in Heaven. I know you would rather have her here now but ours is not to understand but to trust and keep our faith. God Bless you all!

I wonder if she had any presciption meds that seems to what every one is after these days, I can't imagine anyone in their right mind doing this, makes me think they could have been hyped up on pills or something. I am very sorry for this senseless tragedy, my heart goes out to her family, I hope they solve it, but I agree the Sheriffs dept is so crooked I'm not sure it will happen.Crimes and drugs are out of control but yet Seals won't go after the big boys makes me wonder how many people are taking pay offs, cause we have big time dealers and they never get caught.
