Easy for you to say but you have to understand what goes on is a daily thing...Do you think we as an small minority can stand up for the wrongs of other...NO....Vent I think not ...I worry about what will happen next...Since you dont know, or see, makes very little differnce to those that are working there. Is there a solution...Probably not so I have to let the ones know that I share their concerns...So I will try someway to get their attention...Thats all I can do...You see I really care about you and anyone that walks into this hospital and expects quality care ...OK

Did you ever try to talk to the people in charge here. they would rather fire you than correct a problem. brand you a trouble maker and get rid of you. believe me its true. they've been running things this way for a long time and getting away with it. they are not about to change now. they believe this will all blow over and it will be back to business as usual with the old girls club still running the show. as for everyone getting together and standing up to management, good luck. lots of good people here, but we need our jobs. by the time anything changed a lot of good people would be on the street.

Rollover you stated EW should be an interior decorator likes way surface looks, should she take some fashion lessons on how to dress! In all her pictures she has no fashion sense. Get to Work, apparently you have never been treated unfair or you would understand sometimes you need to vent. Of course, I am sure nothing is going to change, same management, same service, same circus.

I guess we shouldn't be so hard on "thegreatdefender". I think it must be Terri Rays son, Travis who goes to school in Charleston. Can't blame a kid for sticking up for his momma. However, he has never worked for her to know how she acts to her staff. I will give you an example of her managing style- she is like Coach Spurrier, even when her staff is doing well she has to say negative things. Great moral booster.

Wish I knew why Bart left I have seem him there as much as 16hrs a day trying to get things worked out...Maybe he didnt fit the image that some want but we many never know why....Sad real sad..
My friend...Bart did not "leave"....He was fired...yes...fired after so many years of working so hard and trying to keep his department going ...all the while he was micro-managed. They waited until he moved that department across the street (yeah the hard part) and then stabbed him right in the back...the knife came from someone that had worked side by side with him for many years...but fate made a crazy twist and got her too....don't feel sorry for her....Karma had her name spelled out in big red letters. Tis a shame the way a monster can be created with a little bit of power. This is all very sad...esp. to the ones of us that had our hearts invested in that place and were never thought of as much more than perishable items....but please never believe that Bart walked away from his responsibilites...he would never do that and they are far worse off without him. The day they fired him...he had been awake for more than 24 hours because he had worked night shift....he did it because they were short staffed.....any other managers that you know of there do that ???? No they don't. It is just sad.

You are so right! Our community deserves this new hospital, but not the management. Truer words have never been spoken when you say the staff is "perishable", it amazes me that so much has been put on this new building, but not the staff. I now work at another Covenant facility and it is much better. Granded I miss the small town feel (from other employees, not the staff), but at least you get help and managers have a whole lot more staff to work with. Alot of employees are leaving Sevier, especially from the old Broady unit. I worked with Teri Ray and know first hand how difficult she can be and the pressure she would put on her employees. Hopefully Bart will find a wonderful job somewhere that will appreciate all he has to offer.

As a current employee of LeConte Medical Center, I am disappointed to see all the negative comments. I have always been proud to be an employee of
this facility - no matter what our name is. We have a hospital of wonderful nurses whose primary interest is the care that the patients receive. Yes, we are worried about the staff changes & are looking over our shoulders but I think we will make some changes that will make LeConte the hospital of choice. Don't give up on us yet!

The sad truth is I have never worked anywhere that every employee no matter what department is so miserable . And it is not just sometimes but all the time. I do believe everyone has a breaking point and why upper management goes home and sleeps well . They don't care that they have hundreds of people that they are pushing over the edge . You can't run a ER with 4 or 5 nurses on days they see 160 + patients . I know we have all been worried about the patients and I do think they are good cause to worry , but the last few days I have started worrying about the staff . They can only handle so much . This hospital has messed with their financial stabillity , there mental stabillity and we can't just go home at night and go to sleep it over flows to the family life. Sooner or later someone is going to break . Also I do want to say the ER manager I believe is trying his best but they have left him short staffed and very little control . They do let him get all the hell from the physicans and patient complaint and ER staff . Changes do need to be made soon.

You are exactly right. Leconte has great nurses with tons of heart. They love one another, their community and the patients they serve. They deserve so much better than this.

All the management needs to be changed. Do not expect any of the managers to stand up for the employees. Yes, it does overflow into your family life, but, as long as the management is not effected, no they do not care. At one point some things will have to change in order for LeConte to prosper.

The concerns voiced by several people in my opinion are in the position to actually know what the problems are.Do something. Someone needs to find out who at Centerpoint (Corportae) paste all the issues and concerns and sound off to them ...Anyone have an email address to forward all of the issues raised in these comments...I would like to copy and paste these to them and see how they feel about Leconte.( Management)
Like someone said yesterday things arent as bad at other facilities...So then, what is Leconte doing wrong...Listen people it aint rocket science..just the fact.... I would have thought that this would have died down by now, but employees are very uncomfortable about the stability of the hospital. Patient safety ???

Wondering how it is going "inside" the new facility? Word is, from the "inside".... less staff, more beds; cutting staff hours 1 day, 12 hours, per payperiod; high percentage of staff seeking employment else where. This is a sad, sad story.
From the inside- try taking a 20% pay cut and told you have way more to do and do it better. Less staff and, quadruple the floor space in the new er. told to just take more patients and lucky to have a job. wonder why 95% of staff are
job hunting? New building and same old S---. except worse.. You will face discplinary action is the most favorite phrase now. No hope in the near or far future, to get out is starting to appear to be the only option for staff to keep their license. Need to clean house top to bottom, thats not going to happen. Wonder why the director of ER is stepping down...this is the latest being told... that he wants to step down from his position.
How many more will do the same????

You know... I took a little time today to look and observe some of the people working in the hospital...I was really amazed at the number if personnel that have different color hair..Wonder why they are still there...There had to be more to it than just a few red streaks??? If its wrong for one to color their hair it should be wrong for all RIGHT??? Talk about a double standard...Just throwing that out there for thought...

I too was proud to work at FSSMC, but as time went on I realized that while the nurses gave all they could, it was not truly appreciated by the higher ups. The day I recited the Florence Nightingale pledge was one of my proudest. I had worked hard and was now able to do the work I had always wanted to do. Sevier was only the second hospital I had worked at. I found the management to be unapproachable. HR would listen and say they would look into it, but I learned that JK could only do so much. JK is a great lady and I admire her, but true change can only happen when EW approved it. TR was a very cold person, and when she was upset or having trouble you knew to stay out of her way. I chose to no longer work at FSSMC (now LeConte)when most of the staff on Broady found out she would not back her nurses. We were supposed to get a shift dif and she kept it from us. It finally showed up on our paychecks without a word from her. A long time RN left the floor to work in the ER, and more have left to work elsewhere too.
I love my community and want to work in Sevier County again, but I will not work for people who do not support their staff when it really counts. I make $3.50 more on the hour so at least there is a trade off.

Everyday it gets worse not better. ER manager stepped down today . Wonder why ? It's going to be hard to fix all the problems top management has causes . We have some of the best ER physicans now and most of them are ready to move to new facilities . Most of the staff is looking else where for work . Alot of great nurses have already got other jobs . You can not run a hospital this way . Just when you read this you will see every deptment from this hospital has major issues . And the one common problem is being so understaffed and treated like we are nothing . It is time for Knoxville to come in and clean house top down . Ice cream will not fix this . Our community is being short changed , pretty package but it is wrapping up major crap .

Sad to say, I do know everything that goes on, and been treated unfairly too. I did stand up, but no one else would. I think you are wrong. If everyone went to the upper chain on managers, I promise you it would make a difference. If they have 10 to 15 people talk to the same person with upper management, it will make a diff. They will listen if you have that many do something. Even if letters were sent and revealed who you are. They will start digging deep, and they will find stuff. This has been going on for years, but nothing will change if something isn't done. I totally understand you posted to warn everyone. I totally understand that and glad you are doing it. Everyone, please think about it. Send letters not revealing who you are. If some many are sent, they'll look. Promise you. I'm single with kids, I have to work too. But, keeping it all in wasn't helping anyone. Please people, send a letter. Let try to do something. One or two speaking up does nothing.

You are so wrong , I know of employees that have went to managment and had expessed concerns and was let go a few weeks later with with trumped up charges. I know employees that was the best nurses the hospital and was let go for standing up for what was right . Staff that was fired for having red streaks in her hair after she gave her notice ( 4 years no issues ). People that was black balled after putting 20 years and decided to leave and work out a notice but the hospital didn't like who they were friends with. I don't even have to say what happened to the icu manager that worked and put in 25 years and was just let go because he did not play their game. You can't go to managment you will be risking your job .

A group of physicans went to ew and expressed their concerns about how horrible they are doing the staff . It just went in one ear and out the other .

So with all do respect this place don't work like that you complain by yourself or with others you better have another job lined out .

Wrong, you are exactly correct. Between EW and JK no one has a chance they have to be the 2 most coward people in the world and I am sure with treating people unfairly the way they do, surely, they have problems sleeping at nite. I would hate to stand up for the faith and act like those 2 people. Apparently, you know your stuff and hey forget the Integrity Comm. WORTHLESS!!!!!! I will stand up for my friend to the end she was let go and treated very unfair!!!!!! It was very wrong. Don't do as I do, do as I say.

I still think a "royal blue" flu would get across your concerns. One day that everyone calls in sick, would not only shut the festering hell hole down, but also get attention from "Headquarters" and possibly from state and national AP wires. The madness has got to stop! There has been too many good people taking the shit so others can keep their jobs. Again, more patients are going to suffer because of the short staff and ignorant management. I say, "Off with her head",(EW).

Take it to the streets PEOPLE! Shout it from the Mountain Tops! Some of the BEST nurses and techs are being "INTIMIDATED" and "THREATENED" by management. Tell everyone you know that LCMC is NOT the facility for "excellent" care. There isn't enough staff for minimal care at this time, but the pressure is on! Everyone appears to be dancing to the tune of Management, SHUT THEM DOWN, make THEM answer for the short staff and patient complaints.
