Behind Golden Corral, on Old Douglas Dam Road there is an abandoned neighborhood. The road this neighborhood is on is Whaley Hollow road. I am dying to know the story behind it. me and some friends have gone up there plenty of times. It is very creepy. There are about 3 or 4 abandoned houses up there. And the very first house only recently became inhabited. The owner of the first house lives there and as of recently started parking his truck to block Whaley Hollow road. Does anyone know ANYTHING about this road? Let me know something. There are rumors of things written ont he walls of the first house in red paint. saying " Please leave me alone" with "i will come back for you" on the opposite wall. This was prior to it being purchased im sure and probably just a rumor. Another rumor is that a shed by one of the other abandoned house has a dresser with little kids toys in it. Leading to believe that whoever lived up there kept their kid in a shed. I am dying to crack this mystery. Please hep. Any information will help.

Interesting story. There's a house on Dolly Parton Parkway that I'm curious about too. It's on the left going out of town. It's just past where the man was murdered in his auto sound business by an ex partner a few years ago (there's an Exxon Station across the street) & before you get to SC High School. This house, a nice light colored stone rancher with a car port on the right side sat empty with brown paper over the windows for years until a business, maybe a day care, opened there about 5 years ago. It sat this way from at least the late 60's til 4 or 5 years ago. My friend remembers it too. I was surprised when he mentioned it to me. I thought I was the only one to notice it but he remembers it just like I do. Do any of you guys know about this house?

My father-in-law (who moved to Sevier County with the CCC's in the 40's) told a story concerning that house. He said it was built by a local man for his family, but his wife absolutely refused to move there. As a result, he refused to do anything else with the house and left it in the unused state you observed. It's gone now and I miss it, because, even though I knew a story about it, there was still a great deal of mystery. Amazing what pride and stubbornness will make us do!
