The Federal Aviation Administration has opened its own investigation into the 50-mile flight of the helium balloon that briefly delayed flights at Denver International Airport after a couple reported that their 6-year-old son may have been on board, an official said Tuesday.

I hate to see the children in foster care, but with unstable parents like those two, that may be the best, unless relative could help. Probation is an easy out, but jail time would really not be productive. An indefinite about os community service for both parents directed to child services would be approiate.

Put them in jail for stupidity and then make them re-pay the cost of this fiasco when they get out. What a bunch of morons..I feel sorry for the their kids..

As a former EMT, I really think these two need to repay the cost of their little stunt. I just can't see the humor in it. They knowingly wasted human resources and time. What if there had been a genuine emergency? I think these two yoyos need to do about a year's worth of community service! As far as the children go, put them with family members who are stable! Oh, yes, I also think these two need to be sterilzed by court order!
