So "common sense" would have told him to knock on all the doors in the area looking for this little kid's parents?
First of all, he should be thankful that someone found the kid and did anything at all, not gripe about it being brought to the attention of the law which I personally believe was the right thing to do. Bad judgment? Leaving a kid in a car for half an hour? If not for that neighbor, the kid could be dead, maybe the legal trouble will teach him a lesson since endangering the child's life apparently did not.
No one I know has ever left their child sit in a car like that. We'll talk about "common sense" when this guy isn't whining about legal trouble and nearly killing someone. It only takes one time, the fact that this old man wants to brush it off and take a swipe at the person responsible for saving this child's life is disgusting.
What an idiot.

Ok while I agree this person made a stupid and what could have been deadly mistake..the same thing happened a summer or two ago in Red Lion and that child died... The parents of that child received NO charges and was not arrested.

Both parties did the same thing, but the red lion couple received NOTHING...yes, their child died and they will bear that the rest of their lives, but it was just as irresponsible as this man. They should have recieved the same penalty!

It just amazes me how two crimes similiar in nature are treated totally different....maybe the deciding factor for the red lion incident is that the father is a church pastor.

1. The Red Lion couple got off because He was a pastor.
2. This has happened in several Places in PA over the past couple of years and the parents or grandparents were charged with child endangerment and one or two have been charged with involuntary homicide.
3. The father in this case has ADMITTED in the new article that he KNEW the child was in the car and made sure he PUT the windows down. It was 90+ degrees outside inside the car with the window down it could have gotten over 100 degrees in 30 minutes or less.
4. THERE IS NO REASON TO LEAVE A CHILD IN A CAR ALONE FOR ANY REASON EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God the neighbor called 911. The neighbor had common sense when he called 911. It's not the neighbors responsibilty to knock door to door and find the parents who lack common sense.

That poor dad is beating himself up with guilt? I'm sure many on the board would like to beat him up physically and then he could collect disability honestly! These moochers know how to work the system and will turn this entire incident into a way to get more free handout. He can't work and is stupid besides BUT he is smart enough to know how to use the system to his benefit.

Where is the baby mamma? You need to keep donor dad from looking after that child. When you have a child, you grow a brain and a tentacle connected to that child at all times!

Every parent I know, is constantly looking around to see what their child is into, or to make sure no one is looking crossways at your child. I'd be afraid when this one's out of a stroller or car seat that wandering off may be a concern. Clearly if you
can get distracted for a half hour, the child is the last thing on your mind.

So it might not be their responsibility but why would they leave the child in the car? What were they doing, standing there looking at the baby?

I cannot believe I just heard about this today. These people should not have children. I know them and they are complete nutcases. More people need to call CYS on them. I am sure this is not the first time that baby has been left unattended and in danger.
