Sesser has a tremendous school that doesn't allow bullying. They won the prestigious blue ribbon award for the top so. Illinois school.

Are you serious, Andressen??? Just because they won a blue ribbon award, doesn't mean that this kind of stuff doesn't exist there. Judy Logsdon, the elementary principal, is a joke.

Nahh. She's pretty good. (unless you're anti-establishmnet and opposed to following rules.)

You obviously do not have children in that school district and I'm betting that you are someone from the school trying to bolster her huge ego.

I have two kids in the district and they have both been disciplined by the principal. Some people don't realize the need for consequences when rules are broken.

Sesser school won an award for being a top school in So.IL? Thats hilarious! that school is complete crap! I went there and there was bullying, I didn't learn anything, and if you needed help MOST not all but most of the teachers weren't even willing to help they didn't want to mess with it. They play favorites if your smart, athletic or have the right last name. I am soooo glad my kid doesn't have to go to that pathetic school!

Sesser is a good school, one of the better ones in the area, that said, many don't seem to understand what the blue ribbon award means. It really means that the school was like the rest and was lower than the state average for testing and academic standards in most areas. The blue ribbon is that they have done a better job of the other schools and have brought the scores up higher than most to the state averages. It does not mean that they are a high academically achieving school, they have just done a better job of pulling themselves out of the bottom of the bunch. And bulling does go on out at the school, I knew of some of the past teachers that were the worst, and they did the sports programs..enough said.

I agree with the the favortism and the lack of help by teachers. Especially in junior high and high school.

Were you guilty?
Of course you were. You lose control of your situation when you break rules. You become subject to the will of others. Did you expect to not suffer consequences just because the high school principal was absent?? Lol.

I go to sv high school never have I once been in trouble but Judy over steps her boundaries a lot. Like when I need to give my sister lunch money in the morning before school has started she refuses to let me see her. Or when mr. Choate is clearly in charge she tries to steP in she needs tO stay in the elementary where she belongs

I was bullied a ton in high school and nobody did anything. The teachers knew what was going on and let the students do it right in front of them. Ruined my high school experience. I hate most people in this school.

The teachers and principles can't or won't do anything about bullying. Best advice is to take it into your own hands. I don't believe in violence or starting fights...but I do believe my child has a right to defend him or herself. My child has had 2 separate incidences of bullying at school and on a bus. After years and/or weeks with nothing done by the school to stop it my child finally fought back (with the anonymous praise of many teachers and other parents who also had the same problems with the same bullies) My child of course suffered the consequences by being suspended for fighting....BIG DEAL...small price to pay. The bullying not only stopped for my child, but also for others as well and my child's self esteem greatly increased after that. My advice...preach kindness and non-violence 1st...and if that doesn't work...try a good right hook!

I will not tolerate bullying, but the problem is, it's all in the eye of the beholder. I agree with Proud Mom, sometimes a person has to take a stand and the consequences are worth it.

Was there with the right last name. Didn't bully but don't kid yourself about favorites. I could do things others couldn't. I just didn't realize the injustice while it was going on. After, while I struggled at a good college and wondered aloud why things were so easy in high school, I was reminded by a room full of educators that we weren't really sending a lot of people to college. That. Wasn't. The. Goal.

I attended Sesser Valier from pre- k until high school and I can honestly say that every teacher I had picked favorites most of the time based off of last names. Grade school wasn't as bad as 5th grade or junior high. The worst teacher I faced in junior high was Mr. Haley. I felt like I wasn't as important as the pretty girls that were cheerleaders or the guys that played baseball and kids like myself got pushed to the side.

I see. And you know this how? Did the teachers share this with you?
It's a load of bologna. I have no care what your last name is.
