You're probably right about that. He and his wife were two of Ashmore's biggest supporters--but he'll have to move back to town if he does.

I hope not! He needs to retire. Im sure there will be a lot of changes! Just hope our new mayor will make the right. choices and not rely on the fakes!

Bad news for you folks. Barrett was a cop before he was the chief. Like him or not he will go back to being a cop. Not so good news to the drunks and druggies.....don't think anyone ever gave that much thought. Now he hides at the office and only mills around during the day. I'm sure that will change and the new mayor can't do anything about that.

There is no protection of a union there in Sesser, and Illinois is a AT WILL work state........that means an employer does NOT need a reason to fire or remove you as an employee. And I sincerely doubt that Paul would come back , not with the job he has now and the salary he is making to settle for a salary of 43,000 as the police chief. And I dont beleive there is a contract for the chief that states the chief automatically returns to patrolman status if replaced.

Pauls making @ 80,000...why would he cut his salary in half to be the police chief again...that would be ridiculous regardless of him being a great chief when he was here before.

You people are brainless. Barret didn't design today and I know the prick. I know he is just waiting for them to fire him to file a federal law suit against Sesser. He's an arrogant ass but not a stupid guy. Actually he's very smart. Don't think for a second he don't have a plan for if they try to fire him. And by the way the cops already signed there Union cards last month. They are a union. Those guys saw the victory coming

Well as for barrett
...his spot is appointed
....a new mayor has a right to make new appts.....so he still wont be chief. Ive already seen the changing of the guard at several towns.....everytime a new mayoe is elected anywhere else it usually means new appts. So dont blow sunshine up barrets ass that he ll stay.....aint happening.

Rob may not be the nicest person but maybe if you follwed the law you wouldnt have any trouble with him! Those who elected Ashmore in hopes he would fire Rob good luck another political lie. Rob is doing his job he has no reason to get rid of him. Obey the law and then you shouldnt have any complaints! I am glad he keeps the drunks and dope heads off the streets!

I see your point! I know some people voted for a new mayor because they thought it would get rid of Rob. The problem with that is they have a dui and have been in trouble. My thought on that is dont blame a cop for doing his job. Follow the law then you have nothing to complain about! No matter who you are you should be held responsible for your actions. Parents need to let their adult children learn a lesson and quit making up excuses for them.

Rob doesnt do his job correctly bud..... he hires part timers, works them full time then turns into the state theyre working part time hours...dont even go there. and I can assure you it ALL isnt on the up and up with his arrests, if so why did tons and tons of them get dismissed ?

Why not? If they're over the limit, they deserve a ticket, no matter where the cop was when they staggered out of the establishment.

hey remo. Probable cause. Just cause ur car is parked by a bar don't mean ur in there or in there drinking. C me swerve hit a ditch fine I deserve it. Don't pull me over cause my car was around a bar. That is illegal.
