Good for him, it's his property and as long as he complies with zoning and the other etc let him go for it.

It's the Bible Belt, isn't it? Maybe he can erect a huge Confederate Flag right next to it so that Northerners will know when they have entered Bazzaro land.

perhaps that cross money could be used instead to actually help People who need help locally, what would Jesus Do? help real people, or erect a really expensive piece of metal in his honor? Are you trying to inspire Christians or are you trying to inspire everyone else to be a Christian? either way it seems excessive when there are so many great charitable things you could do with that kind of money.

It's his land, it's his money. He gets to decide what to spend his money on, not you.

Maybe he should cover that cross with solar cells and at least produce some electricity for his money. As it is now, he is just wasting his money except for the fact that lots of people will get a chuckle out of it as they pass by. I don't know why he doesn't just cut to the chase and put up a sign that reads: "Welcome to the South". Why beat around the bush?

What does it matter to you. It's his business. People waste money on an hourly basis watching porn. This guy is expressing his love for Christ and what he did on the cross. If you don't like it don't look. If you don't like the south than move. If you chuckle at what the cross means then you have bigger concerns. As for myself I am proud that a man wants to show his love for Christ in this great state.

Wonderful. I'm sure you would feel the same if a Muslim decided to erect a 50-foot statue of the Koran. After all, he would just be expressing his love as well.

Unlike you I don't have a prob with that. If they own the land that is their business. I might not agree with their faith, but last time I checked this is still a free country.

Wrong--I absolutely do not have a problem with that.

If you don't have a problem with that then why post a comment. Oh I get it. You have a problem with the Christian guy, but you wouldn't have a problem with a Muslim doing the equivalent.

I have a problem with the Christian guy excluding any other religion in his post.

And that has not happened in this thread as far as I can see. If it did I would also have a problem with it.

"This guy is expressing his love for Christ and what he did on the cross."

I would take it that this guy is just pleased with the idea because the cross is associated with christ. My point is--would he be just as pleased if someone of another religion expressed their love by erecting an icon of their particular faith---I don't think so. You are welcome to your opinion but I read between the lines where there is more to read.

You obviously have a problem with Christians. Like I said I don't have a problem with a Muslim expressing his love for Islam on his land. That is his business. You are the only one with the problem and I don't have to read between the lines.

What does it matter if anybody else is pleased by another expressing their love for their faith. That is idiotic. I don't agree with the Muslims, but that's my business. Again this is a free country

"Again this is a free country"

Yes it is and that is why I resent any religion trying to convert anyone to their religion. Leave other people alone. Keep your missionaries home rather than sending them all over the World to convert people who are quite happy doing whatever they are doing and believing in whomever they believe in. In other words, mind you own business and the World will be a lot more peaceful. I've traveled all over this Country and the only advertisements--like religious roadside signs and crosses that I have seen are those of the Christian faith. Tell me about any other religion that does that much advertising. It's not done because of some person's love of Christ, it's done just for the same reason you see Coca-Cola signs--they want your business and they want your money in their silver plate. That is what can be read between the lines.

Dude, you have serious issues. If a person wants to share their faith that's up to them. If someone wants to listen that's up to them. If someone wants to be a missionary that's up to them. If you don't like it than that's up to yo, but don't expect Christians to stop spreading the Gospel. Spreading the Gospel is what Christians are called to do, so that would mean we would have to go against the teaching of Christ.. You definitely have some deep seeded issues

Evidently only liberals are free to express their beliefs and to hell with everybody else.
