This is becoming rather common event that
a man or a woman who has a notoriously known
potentially vicious or deadly dog (pits or rotties, ie)

who then gets bitten, mauled, sued, fined, or killed by the
same dogs they proclaim as misunderstood, maligned,
and eventually euthanized in the spirit of
public safety.

OK....whatever you say.

Aww, Pena. I hope your beloved Doberman copes for a good while. But if she doesn't, we're here for you.

Hey man, I/we [ex-wife] had to put a Lab to sleep; and a few months later I was kicked outa the house. I loved them both dearly -- burying the Lab was the roughest patch of the two moments in that year, though.

Hey, it's only fair. And we can be happy that this time it was the owner, not the neighbors, their kids or their pets.

Its funny how when a story like this comes to the front, people will fall all over themselves to criticize the dog. IE. "Doberman brains swell" and ALWAYS a comment about Pit Bulls.....
Well, I'm here to tell you that when a dog attacks an OWNER, it's due to that owner's relationship with that dog. And I'm not saying that he has to ONLY love his wittle wubba wubba....I'm saying that a proper alpha type of relationship in the VAST majority of cases will simple NOT allow something like this to occur. I've worked with dogs for 40 years and the only ones if ever seen become aggressive in this way are those who are treated like an owner's surrogate children.

If you have a strong, yet fair and loving pack leadership role in your dog's world, this will never happen.

Anyway, about the topic...

It wasn't the dog's fault. But why would the dog maul him anyway?? Besides, even if the man crawled out of his room, it would follow him out and keep mauling him...
