You know for some reason it did not hit me until recently. She needed Matthew dead so she could collect the $500,000 on the life ins policy. This would get her out of her check kiting mess and have a littel pochet change to boot. Why this was not used as a motive I do not know. She was porbably going to use an alibi and blame it on a break in or that someone else did it. You idiot jurors let a murderer go free and now possibly have a child's life in danger as Patricia knows the truth. She fears Mary and has stated that. Now it is possible that she will be placed back with the very person she fears and has reason to since we know Mary is heartless.
Money is the root of all evil and Mary has proved that. Pray for those girls that Mary will never be able to get them.

Sorry Pat--Matthew had no insurance policy, much less a $%00,000 dollar life insurance. His father made that clear early before his burial. Dan assumed all of Matthew's liabilities and paid it off with all the "Fund," money he collected under the pretense of "needing money to raise these granddaughters!" Well, he got the money given and now they want it fund kept private. To make its public will reveal the deception Dan perpretrated upon Christians who thought he needed it care for the girls. He use the monies to apy attorneys to fight their mother, Mary. Let's get all truth made PUBLIC.

I read there WAS an insurance policy on Matthew when I posted, that is why I commented I did not realize this until recently. So I was simply going by the article that I got that info from. I still think she is scum and does not deserve those kids back.

just because a woman killed her abusive husband. obviously there was something there, all she got was probation. weather the kids were there or not for her to finnally do the only thing she could, the kids were there all of the times he allegedly beat her. no mom deserves to go without her children. everyone always turns away when there is spousal abuse, but when the women finnally take revenge it is them that are made out ot be the monsters. let God judge her. keep your head up high and dont let negative comments hold you back.

NOBODY turns away from spousal abuse...that's a common grossly exaggerated statement...Spousal abuse is, as far as our society is concerned, on the same level with child molesters. IF YOU SEEK HELP, THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT WILL HELP YOU. If you are in a bad situation, get out! There seems to be several people willing to help out this cold-blooded murderer after she shot him, I am sure they would have helped her out before. Murder was her easy way out...she rolled the dice, gambled that everyone would buy her sympathy story, and she won...pure & simple. I think she's a liar...If she can murder, she can lie. Even if she was in an abusive situation, murder was not the answer. The accused has no way of defending himself.
It's good thing that most people are, at least, not buying her story.
The kids? I don't think they shouldn't be with her because of the crime she committed itself...they shouldn't be with her because if her lack of self-control in a stressful situation causes her to murder, what would she do in a stressful situation with one of her children? People say "she wouldn't hurt those kids"...I bet if you had asked her six months before the murder, she would have said "she wouldn't hurt her husband."
To the victims of spousal abuse, I am so sorry for what you have been through. I could not begin to imagine coming home to that everyday, I just couldn't. If you are in that situation, you need to put your pride aside and reach out to family, friends, your church, anyone that genuinely loves you, and seek help.
I have been through a divorce in which my wife accused me of thing I did not do. So, I have been there. Of course, hers was all talk. She didn't bring much of any of it in court; she just spread the rumors in the community. Luckily, nobody believed her because everyone that knew me knew the type of person I was.

I think Mary Winkler should have got the chair. That was well thought out on her part, PRE-MEDITATED MURDER.
Number 1- She shot him in the back while he was sleeping. I could understand him coming at her and her defending herself, but come on in the old west shooting a man in the back was a coward killing and she would have definately hung from the gallows on that one.
Number 2- Pulled the phone plug out of the wall so he couldnt call for help. Not even gonna comment on that. COLD- BLOODED!

Didnt they pick her up in Mississippi with the kids, bags packed, reservations, the whole shebang?

Whats the whole deal with " He made me wear those horrible stilleto heals". She should have crammed one up his butthole and I guarantee he would never want to lay eyes on them again. She'd be wearing flats from then on out.

What kind of mother would kill her husband with their children in the same house?

Last but not least. She can say he was so abusive and that he was the worst husband in the world. Did she not have a best friend she could confide in? Nothing on file shows he was that way. The truth is we will never know the relationship of the two because he is no longer here to give his testimony. So you are right TCKDOFF God will be her judge and only he knows the truth. All I can say is that I feel sorry for her soul!

She was protecting them from more abuse, if she hadn't done anything that wouldn't been even worse. Her kids are alive and healthy because she done away with a two faced piece of crap.

Shooting someone in the back is never correct UNLESS it is done to remove an imminent danger to another. There was no imminent danger in this case. She simply murdered him, and should have been punished accordingly. The chair or lethel injection would have been appropriate.

I have...I got out for the sake of me and my kids. I did the right thing...There is no excuse for murder unless you are in immediate fear of your life and no other time. Continuous abuse is NOT a reason to murder, it's a reason to get out!

I also know women (two that I consider firends, although they are not very trustworthy) who accused their husbands of unspeakable things to get what they wanted and bragegd about the fact the it worked later.

Have you people no brains.Webber McGraw did not let her walk without a reason. There is something there that has been sealed (if so probably for the sake of the kids) or there was a travesty of justice before it reached the courtroom on the part of officer's or the DA and they don't want it Public Knowledge. You will never convince me that things are as they appear.Something is not right but it will come out eventually.
